How to book the best New Bern rental experience:
Finding the best rental value:
- Book your vacation home in the Fall or Spring to get the benefit of warm weather while saving money and avoiding crowded roads, restaurants, and activities. Many vacationers use this method to reserve larger homes, or to reserve a beach front rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during June, July, and August. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a New Bern vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation near the ocean? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with loved ones at the beach.
- In the New Bern area, The earlier you can book a vacation home, the better your selection will be. The most desirable rental properties are booked early. Booking your vacation home 6-12 months before your vacation is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to search for and reserve your rental.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager or host if your vacationing group qualifies for a price reduction or discount.
- Property management companies often offer renters an option to purchase vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which normally will cost you anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed time as a result of medical-related issues or weather, as well as hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel stay or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance can be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for program terms and fees.
- Find a copy of your local New Bern visitors guide magazine when you arrive at the rental property. If your rental property doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great local information, visitor guide magazines contain money saving offers on nearby restaurants, attractions, and tours.
Narrow your rental Search:
- Select vacation week and spending budget.
- Decide how many beds and the bed configuration your family needs. Queen Suite-Unit 207 has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our New Bern vacation rental search.
- Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts & types is commonly accessible online. If they are not listed, email or call the property owner before reserving the vacation home. Note that most listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which frequently includes pull out couches in living rooms.
- If there's a certain New Bern attraction you long to visit, look for properties that are either near by, or those that cater especially to your requirements.
- Suitable accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for guests with disabilities. Confirm all necessary amenities are included before booking.
- If your group is vacationing with pets, you'll need to book a pet-friendly rental. Get information on breed, weight, and type requirements. Some hosts require additional pet deposits and fees.
Additional considerations:
- Take a copy of the owner's phone number and arrival/departure procedures for your .
- Note any damages to the property upon arrival, and immediately e-mail them to the host. We specifically recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that are beneficial if damages are attributed to your stay.
- Hosts are great sources of help! Don't be shy to ask questions during your stay.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like disrespectful vacationers bothering your peaceful neighborhood. Use the golden rule for best judgement. Happy residents may even recommend great restaurants and attractions you would have not otherwise known about!
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Local residents can often help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to grab the best tacos, have a great night out, or the best spots for fishing?
- Keep the property locked while you are out! Don't let crooks ruin your trip.
- At departure, take a walk-through to make sure you didn't leave anything behind. Re-check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden treasure. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Inspect the property one final time and keep an eye out for any damage. We recommend inspecting the property with the property manager whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the host isn't available, remember to take photos of the property to record its condition.
- Remember to leave feedback! Property owners rely on good ratings to stimulate more reservations. They'll be thankful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something wasn't right, other families will will be grateful for your experience and help them have the best future vacation. Remember to be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the owner could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to solve it.
