About this Property

  • Private vacation home

2024 season now open!! Appreciate impressive ocean vistas. Elegance and luxury in a beach home with expansive seascape vistas. And we are located well away from the hordes -- often the beach is completely empty in front of the home.

This oceanfront bungalow is completely private. It has been floor-to-ceiling remodeled with an modren modern coastal vibe that was designed by Susie to keep all different styles of visitors in mind.

Clean lines and bespoke furnishings let the striking 180-degree ocean vistas do all the talking. Two sets of sliding double doors open up to a sizable sunbathing deck with plenty of furnishings to appreciate the ocean breeze (and tan without the sand), while sipping your favorite drink.

Outdoor dining for two is also recommended if you like romance, as you have an unobstructed view of over 2 miles of coastline (great for taking vacation pics).

For your convenience, we boast the shortest walk to the sand you can buy on the island if you feel like walking down to the beach to check on your family. But where Susie's Hideaway West really shines is when you wake up from a vacation siesta to the unbeatable vistas of the sand and ocean from our bespoke-made napping couch.

Linens and towels are supplied. Also we are only 5 mins. on a walking path from a wine store, grocery stores, and eateries.

Susie's Hideaway West features all new kitchen with granite countertops, new appliances, new floor, new linens, ceiling fans, dishwasher, washer/dryer, 4 flat screen TVs, and wireless high-speed Internet access.

Susie's Hideaway is a duplex (with two sides, East and West). This listing is for the West side. It is completely private -- there are no common or shared areas. You will be able to savor the beach in complete privacy. And we are located well away from the hordes -- often the beach is completely empty in front of the home, accepting complete enjoyment of the white sandy beaches!

Linens and towels are supplied.
Rents Sun-to-Sun only in the summer (June to August).

Hosts: Susie & William

Tricks and tips to get the best New Bern rental home experience:

When to book & When to go:

  • To get the best value, try changing your vacation dates to the Spring or Fall seasons. May, September, and October offer warm weather, , and reduced traffic.
  • In the New Bern area, The earlier you can reserve a home, the better your selection will be. The most desirable rental homes are booked early. Reserving your vacation property six - twelve months before your travel dates is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to search for and reserve your vacation home.
  • Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective vacation rental company or host whether your family qualifies for a discount.
  • Property management companies frequently offer renters an option to add vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which costs 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed time as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance might be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for details.
  • Many management companies supply New Bern area travel guide magazines which will include money-saving deals, either offered independently by local businesses, or by way of a relationship with the management company and the business itself. You can also find New Bern visitors guide and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.

Choosing the perfect rental home in the New Bern area:

  • Choose vacation week and budget.
  • Decide how many bedrooms and the configuration you need. Oceanfront Luxury House with Stunning Views has 3 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our New Bern rental home search.
  • Specific details about bedrooms and bed counts is usually available online. Otherwise, contact the property manager before reserving the vacation property. Remember that most property listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which typically includes pull out couches in living rooms. You'll need to determine what configuration is suitable for your vacation group.
  • Is your family looking for specific amenities? Most rental search websites include search filters for amenities. Amenity filters help you quickly remove less-optimal properties.
  • Appropriate accessibility can make or break a vacation for persons with disabilities. .
  • If your family is vacationing with pets, you must reserve a property that allows animals. Get specifics on breed, weight, and type requirements. Usually, property owners charge additional pet fees.

Advice for your stay:

  • Take a copy of the host's phone number and check in/check out procedures for your rental property. Store the manager's information in your smartphone.
  • During arrival, note any issues with the rental property and immediately contact the property manager. Record all correspondence just in case a dispute arises.
  • Property managers are great sources of help! Don't be shy to ask any questions before, during, or after your stay.
  • Respect the neighborhood. Often, adjacent homes are filled by local residents. Respecting late-night noise limits and parking regulations reduces conflict and allows everyone to enjoy their day.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Residents can typically help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to find the fresh catch of the day, have a great night out, or the best spots for bird watching?
  • Lock your rental home while you're out. Protect your property!
  • At departure, take a walk-through to make sure you didn't forget any personal items. Make sure to check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden items. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Inspect the property a final time and look for any damage. We suggest walking through with the property manager whenever possible. If the host isn't available, ensure that you take photos and video of the property to record its condition at check-out.
  • Did your family have a terrific time? Many vacation rental websites make it easy for customers to provide reviews. If your rental and/or property manager was great, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was wrong and they failed to correct it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your review.
