Tricks and tips to get the very best New Bern rental experience:

Get the best rental home value:

  • Summer months are the most expensive season in coastal NC. Booking your New Bern vacation rental in Spring or Fall is one of our best tips for saving money on your vacation rental. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of suitable homes. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a New Bern vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation near the ocean? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with friends and family at your favorite beach.
  • Reserve your vacation rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules often become available twelve months in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many families reserve their Summer vacation rentals during Thanksgiving and Christmas gatherings. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
  • Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager if your group qualifies for a discount.
  • Property management companies usually offer their guests an option to add vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which usually costs between 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed trip time as a result of medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for additional information.
  • Look for your local New Bern area magazine upon checking in. If your rental home doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers. In addition to great information, travel guides contain coupons for nearby tours, shops, and attractions.

How to select the best vacation rental in Atlantic Beach:

  • Choose vacation week and budget.
  • Decide how many bedrooms and the configuration your group needs. Light-filled condo with 3-level deck, Ping-Pong & beach around the corner has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
  • Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is generally accessible online. If not, contact the property owner before booking the vacation property. Note that most property listings specify the max. guest capacity, which typically includes sofa beds and bunks.
  • If there's an individual New Bern beach you love, browse rentals that are either nearby, or those that cater to your desires.
  • Proper accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for those with limited mobility. Confirm all required amenities are included before reserving a rental.
  • If your group is bringing pets, you will need a rental that allows animals. Make sure to ask for information on breed, weight, and type restrictions. Usually, property managers require additional pet deposits and fees.

Considerations for your stay:

  • Be sure you get the owner's contact number and arrival/departure procedures for your rental property. We recommend storing the manager's contact information in your smartphone.
  • Note any issues with the rental upon arrival, and immediately contact the property manager. We specifically recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain time stamps that can be helpful if a dispute is filed.
  • Hosts are there to help! Don't be shy to ask questions before, during, or after your stay.
  • Don't forget to respect your neighbors. Frequently, adjacent homes are occupied by permanent residents. Respecting late-night noise limits and parking rules reduces conflict and allows everyone to enjoy their day.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Local residents can often help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to order the best nachos, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for BBQ?
  • Lock your rental while you are out and about. Protect the owner's property and your stuff!
  • Double-check every room of the property to make sure that you've packed all of your family's items on check-out day. Check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden items. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Record a video to document the condition of the property.
  • Leave feedback! Property managers rely on great feedback to propel new bookings. They'll be thankful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something wasn't as described, other families will be thankful you shared your review find their best rental home. Please be fair with your feedback If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the host had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to fix it.
