With beach access points just a quarter-mile around the corner in either direction, this multi-story condo is a marvelous home base for taking in the beauty of Atlantic Beach. Spend your days surfing, beachcombing, and basking in the fragrant ocean breeze on three levels of deck space.

This condo sits one block back from the ocean on the east side of downtown. It's a prime location that gives you painless access to dining and shopping in the heart of town (one mile west) and delightful Fort Macon State Park (one mile east) with its pre-Civil War fort and elegant opportunities for swimming and birding. A sandy path across the way provides a shortcut to the beach through the dunes.

There's a deck for every occasion here, whether you're savoring your morning coffee off the top-floor primary bedroom, barbecuing on the ground-floor patio, or sipping beverages in the shade on the main level.

Inside, the home is full of coastal character, beginning with the bright, breezy, and open living space on the main floor. Savor a well-equipped kitchen with stainless steel appliances, a dining area, and a living room with a TV for family movie nights. More entertainment awaits in the converted garage downstairs, where you'll find a Ping-Pong table and cornhole to set up outside. A washer/dryer, central air, and complimentary WiFi are supplied for your comfort as well.

How to find the best Atlantic Beach vacation home experience:

Getting the most from your vacation rental budget:

  • Booking your New Bern vacation home in Fall or Spring is an excellent way to save on your vacation rental. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of suitable properties. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a New Bern vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation on the coast? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with family and friends at your favorite beach.
  • Reserve your vacation rental as early as possible. Rental schedules generally become available 12 months in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many groups book their Summer vacations during holiday get-togethers. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
  • Some property managers offer discounts for active duty military and veterans. Make sure to check with your host or property manager to see if discounts are available for your family.
  • Property managers often offer renters an option to add vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally costs between 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed trip time as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance might be a a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for details.
  • Look for your local visitors guide when you check-in. If your rental property doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers. In addition to great articles, travel guide magazines contain discounts for nearby accommodations, tours and attractions.

Planning, picking, and booking the perfectrental:

  • Begin by choosing a vacation week and a maximum budget.
  • Decide how many bedrooms and the configuration you need. Light-filled condo with 3-level deck, Ping-Pong & beach around the corner has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our New Bern vacation rental search.
  • Precise information regarding bedrooms and bed types is almost always available on booking websites. Otherwise, email the property manager before you reserve the home. Note that most property listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which frequently includes sofa beds in living rooms. You'll need to determine what bed configuration is right for your vacation family.
  • Visiting for a specific event or attraction? If so, use a map search to find nearby rentals.
  • Suitable accessibility can make or break a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. Confirm all required amenities are available and included before booking
  • If your group is traveling with pets, you must reserve a pet-friendly vacation rental. Request information on breed, size, and type requirements. Usually, hosts charge additional pet fees.

Some things to know before you go:

  • Add the host's contact information to your smartphone. Take a copy of arrival/departure procedures.
  • To make certain no damages are linked to your family's visit, record any problem areas during check in. Get in touch with the host right away to record any pre-existing damages. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having the recorded issues and contact attempts will be helpful.
  • Property managers are there to help! Don't be shy to ask questions during your stay.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like loud vacationers disrupting your home life. Employ the golden rule for best judgement. If they like you, locals might even recommend great local food and attractions you would've never otherwise known!
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Residents can usually help. Who better to ask where to enjoy a steak with a view, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for bird watching?
  • Keep your rental home locked while you're out! Don't let burglars spoil your trip.
  • Re-check the property to confirm that you've packed all of your belongings at check-out. Re-check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden belongings. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Record a video to document the condition of the property.
  • Did your group have a excellent stay? Many rental managers make it easy for customers to provide reviews. If your property and/or property management company was wonderful, they would love to hear about it. If anything was defective and they failed to fix it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your comments.
