How to book the best Atlantic Beach rental home experience:

How to get the best rental home value:

  • Book your New Bern vacation in the Fall or Spring shoulder seasons to get the benefit of gorgeous weather while saving money and avoiding crowds. Many vacationers use this method to reserve larger homes, or to book a beach front vacation rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during the high season. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a New Bern vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation near the ocean? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with family and friends at the beach.
  • In the New Bern area, The earlier you can book a rental home, the better your selection will be. The best rental properties are reserved very early. Booking your rental six - twelve months before your travel dates is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to search for and reserve your vacation home.
  • Veterans and Active Duty Military members may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager or host if your group qualifies for a special promotion or discount.
  • Booking websites typically offer renters an option to buy vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which normally will cost you 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any days missed as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather, as well as hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance can be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for specifics.
  • Find a copy of your local New Bern area magazine when you check-in. If your rental doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great local stories, travel guide magazines contain discounts for nearby accommodations and attractions.

Use filters to narrow your search:

  • Select a group lead, select your vacation dates, and choose a maximum budget.
  • Note the number bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration your group needs. Third-Floor Ocean-View Condo Overlooking Courtyard w\/Private Balcony, Free WiFi has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
  • Precise information regarding bedrooms and bed counts is commonly available on booking pages. If you don't see them listed, call the property owner before booking your rental. Remember that most property listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which typically includes sofa beds and bunks.
  • If there's a certain New Bern attraction you are crazy about, look for rentals that are either near by, or those that cater to your requirements.
  • Proper accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for persons with a disability. Remember to confirm all required amenities are available and included before booking
  • Are you bringing the family pet? Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Make sure to ask before booking, and study your rental agreement! Additional pet fees or applied to your agreement.

Tips for your stay:

  • We recommend storing the host's information in your smartphone and wallet.
  • Document any issues with the rental upon arrival, and immediately contact the property manager. We specifically recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain time stamps that are valuable if damages are assessed.
  • Hosts are great sources of help! Feel free to ask questions before, during, or after your stay.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like disagreeable visitors disrupting your peaceful neighborhood. Practice the golden rule for best judgement. If they like you, locals might even recommend great beaches and attractions you would've never otherwise known about!
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Local residents can typically help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to take kids for a treat, have a great night out, or the best spots for BBQ?
  • Protect the property owner (and your things!) by keeping the rental locked up while you are out, just like you would back home.
  • Don't leave anything behind! Before departing, walk through the rental to reconfirm you've collected all of your things. Make sure to check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden items. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
  • Did you have a wonderful stay? Most rental managers make it easy for vacationers to provide reviews. If your rental and/or property manager was great, they would love to hear about it. If anything was out of order and they failed to correct it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your comments.
