How to get the best New Bern rental home experience:

Finding your perfect rental:

  • Summertime is high season in Beaufort. To get the best value, consider shifting your vacation dates to the Spring or Fall seasons. May, September, and even October offer pleasant weather, , and reduced traffic. Many vacationers use this strategy to find larger homes within budget, or to reserve an oceanfront rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during the Summer.
  • Reserve your vacation home as soon as possible. Rental schedules usually become available a year in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many families book their Summer vacations during Winter holiday gatherings. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
  • Veterans and Active Duty Military members may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property owner whether your family qualifies for a price reduction.
  • Booking websites often offer customers an option to add vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which will generally cost anywhere between 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed time as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance can be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for program terms and fees.
  • Often, property management companies and vacation rental houses supply New Bern area visitor guide magazines which will include coupons, either offered directly by local companies, or by way of a relationship with the management company and the business itself. You can also find New Bern visitors guide and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.

Filter your search:

  • Select a group lead, choose your vacation week, and choose a maximum budget.
  • Decide how many beds and the bed configuration your group needs. Historic Corner Cottage - newly renovated kitchen, bathroom & bedroom floors has 3 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our rental home search.
  • Precise information about bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is almost always available on booking websites. If they are not listed, call the property manager before you reserve the home. Remember that most listings specify the max. guest capacity, which often includes sofa beds.
  • Are you visiting for a single event or attraction? Use a map search to browse nearby rentals.
  • Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for persons with a disability. Remember to confirm all necessary amenities are available and included before booking
  • Some rentals allow pets, and others do not. Acceptable types of family pet, weight and breeds may be restricted, and added charges may apply. Ask the host about allowable pet guidelines before booking.

Advice for your stay:

  • We recommend storing the manager's information in your smartphone.
  • To ensure that damages are not attributed to your family's stay, inspect the property for any problem areas upon your arrival. Call the host right away to document your findings. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having a record of issues and contact attempts will be valuable.
  • Ask questions. You may need instructions for a garage door opener, stereo or coffee maker. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief call can prevent a lot of concerns.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like unpleasant vacationers disrupting your peace and quiet. Employ the golden rule for best judgement. If they like you, locals might even recommend great restaurants and attractions you would've never otherwise known!
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Local residents can usually help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to rent beach equipment, have a great night out, or the best spots for shopping?
  • Protect the owner (and your stuff!) by locking and securing the home when you are out, just like you would back home.
  • Don't leave anything behind! Before departing, take a walk through the rental to make sure you've collected all personal items. Remember to check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden items. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Please make sure to walk through the rental a final time and keep an eye out for damage. We recommend inspecting the property with the property manager whenever you can. If the property manager is not available, take photos of the property to record its condition.
  • Did your family have a wonderful time? Most rental home management companies make it easy for clients to provide comments. If your property and/or property manager was wonderful, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was inoperable and they failed to fix it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your feedback.
