Strategies to get the very best rental home experience:

When to book a New Bern rental & When to go:

  • Reserve your rental in Fall or Spring to enjoy beautiful weather while saving money and avoiding crowded roads, restaurants, and activities. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a New Bern vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation on the coast? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with family and friends at the beach.
  • In the New Bern area, The earlier your group can book, the better your selection will be. The best vacation rentals are booked early. Booking your vacation rental up to twelve months before your vacation is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to plan and book your vacation home.
  • Some property management companies offer discounts for veterans. Check with your property manager to see if special offers are available for your group.
  • Management companies and individual rental owners usually offer customers an option to purchase trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which generally will cost 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed trip time as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for details.
  • Find a copy of your local New Bern visitors guide upon checking in. If your rental home doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great local information, travel guide magazines contain coupons for local accommodations, restaurants and tours.

Selecting and booking a perfect New Bern rental:

  • Select your vacation week and budget.
  • Determine how many beds and the bed configuration your family requires. Double Queen-Unit 103 has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our rental home search.
  • Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is often available on booking websites. If they are not listed, email or call the property owner before you reserve the home. Note that most property listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which often includes sofa beds. You'll need to determine what configuration is right for your vacation group.
  • Visiting for a specific attraction? If so, use a map search to find nearby properties.
  • Appropriate accessibility can make or break a vacation for persons with a disability. Remember to confirm all required amenities are available and included before reserving a rental
  • If your group is vacationing with pets, you must book a rental that allows animals. Request details on breed, size, and type restrictions. Often, hosts require additional pet deposits and fees.

Some things to know before you go:

  • Add the owner's contact information to your smartphone. Take a copy of check in/check out procedures.
  • To make sure that damages are not linked to your stay, make note of any problem areas upon check in. Get in touch with the property manager right away to relay your findings. If there is a dispute, having a record of concerns and contact attempts will be helpful.
  • Ask questions. You may want instructions for a hot tub, stereo or appliance. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief text message can prevent lots of difficulties.
  • Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking restrictions can make a stay more pleasurable. You'll enhance your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors can be an incredible resource to find the best local scenic spots.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Local residents can usually help. Who better to ask where to get the best seafood, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for bird watching?
  • Protect the rental owner (and your stuff!) by locking the rental while you are out, just like you would at home.
  • Re-check every room of the property to make sure that you've packed all of your family's items at departure. Make sure to check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden treasure. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Inspect the property a final time and keep an eye out for any damage. We recommend inspecting the property with the host whenever you can. If the host is not available, ensure that you take photographs of the property to record its condition.
  • Remember to leave feedback! Property owners rely on good feedback to compel new reservations. They'll be thankful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something wasn't right, other vacationing families will appreciate that you share your review and help them have the best future vacation. Remember to be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the host had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to solve it.
