Tips and Tricks for getting the perfect Atlantic Beach vacation home experience:
When to reserve a New Bern rental & When to go:
- Summer time is high season in Atlantic Beach. Reserve your New Bern vacation in Fall or Spring to enjoy beautiful weather while saving money and avoiding crowded roads, restaurants, and activities. Many vacationers use this method to reserve larger homes, or to reserve a beach front vacation rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during the high season.
- Book your vacation rental as early as possible. Rental schedules often become available 12 months in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many groups book their Summer rental homes during holiday get-togethers. Book before these holidays for best selection.
- Veterans and Active Duty Military members may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective host whether your vacationing group qualifies for a special rate.
- Booking websites typically offer customers an option to obtain trip insurance. Trip insurance, which costs 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed time as a result of medical-related issues or weather, as well as evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for specifics.
- Look for your local New Bern visitors guide magazine upon arrival. If your rental doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers. In addition to great information, travel guides contain offers and deals for local tours and attractions.
Filter your search:
- Start by having your group agree to vacation dates and a budget.
- Note the number bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration your family needs. Double Queen-Unit 305 has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our vacation rental search.
- Specific information about bedrooms and bed counts & types is usually accessible online. If you don't see them listed, email or call the property owner before reserving the home. Remember that most property listings specify maximum guest capacity, which usually includes sofa beds in living rooms.
- If there's a certain New Bern attraction you simply love, search for homes that are either nearby, or those that cater especially to your needs.
- Suitable accessibility can make or break a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. Confirm all required amenities are available and included before reserving a rental
- If your family is vacationing with pets, search for a rental that allows animals. Request specifics on breed, size, and type restrictions. Be aware that some property managers charge pet deposits and fees.
Advice for a great stay:
- Get the owner's contact number and entry/exit procedures for your rental home.
- To make sure that no damages are attributed to your stay, note any problem areas when you arrive. message the property manager right away to report any pre-existing damages. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having a record of issues and contact attempts will be valuable.
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a hot tub, television set or washer/dryer. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief telephone call can prevent lots of problems.
- Respecting quiet hours and parking rules can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You will enhance your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors are often a fantastic source for finding the best local beaches and restaurants.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Residents can typically point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to find the best seashells, have a great night out, or the best spots for shopping?
- Ensure you protect the owner (and your things!) by locking the rental when you are away, just like you would back home.
- Upon check-out, take a walk-through to make sure you haven't forget anything. Check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden treasure. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Record a video to document the condition of the property.
- Leave a review! Hosts rely on good feedback to drive future bookings. They'll be thankful for your review. Alternatively, if something went wrong, other families will be thankful you shared your experience and help them have the best future vacation. Remember to be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the owner could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to remedy it.
