Tricks and tips for getting the perfect Emerald Isle vacation rental experience:

Cost saving strategies:

  • In the New Bern area, The sooner you can reserve a home, the better your selection will be. The most desirable vacation homes are reserved early. Booking your rental home up to 12 months before your vacation is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to search for and book your rental home.
  • To find the best value, try changing your group's vacation dates to the Spring or Fall shoulder seasons. May, September, and even October offer excellent weather, less crowded beaches, and reduced traffic.
  • Some property managers offer special rates for veterans. It's always a good idea to check with your host or property manager to see if discounts are available for your group.
  • Property management companies frequently offer renters an option to buy vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally costs 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed days as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance might be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for specifics.
  • Find a copy of your local New Bern visitors guide when you check-in. If your rental home doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers. In addition to great local articles, visitors guides have money saving offers on nearby attractions, tours, restaurants, and shops.

Selecting the best vacation home in Emerald Isle:

  • Begin by selecting vacation dates and a maximum budget.
  • Determine how many beds and the configuration your family requires. Cozy beach condo in Emerald Isle, NC has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
  • Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed types is almost always available online. Otherwise, email or call the property owner before you reserve the vacation home. Note that most listings specify maximum guest capacity, which often includes sofa beds. You will need to establish what is best for your trip.
  • Are you traveling with furry, four-legged family members? Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Make sure to ask before booking, and study your agreement thoroughly! Additional fees or might be applied to your contract.
  • If there's a particular New Bern destination you are enamored with, search for homes that are either nearby, or those that cater to your requirements.
  • Proper accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for those with limited mobility. Confirm all required amenities are included before booking.

During your stay:

  • Review arrival and departure procedures before traveling. Save the directions to your smartphone, and take a printed copy.
  • Ask questions. You may need instructions for a garage door opener, television set or thermostat. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief call prevents quite a few difficulties.
  • Ensure you protect the owner (and your things!) by locking and securing the home when you are gone, just like you would at home.
  • To make certain damages aren't linked to your stay, inspect the rental for any problem areas upon check in. text the rental manager right away to report any pre-existing damages. If there is a dispute, having the recorded problems and contact attempts will be helpful.
  • Be a good neighbor. Often times, surrounding homes are filled by local residents. Respecting quiet hours and parking regulations reduces conflict and allows everyone to enjoy their day.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Local residents can often help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to charter a fishing boat, have a great night out, or the best spots for fishing?
  • Don't leave anything behind! Before you drive away, take a walk through the rental property to confirm you've collected all personal items. Re-check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden items. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Inspect the property a final time and scan for damage. We advise walking through with the host whenever possible. If the host is not available, remember to take photographs of the property to record its condition.
  • Remember to leave a review! Property owners rely on great ratings to propel new bookings. They'll be much obliged for your feedback. Alternatively, if something went wrong, other vacationers will will be grateful for your feedback find their best rental home. Be fair with your review. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the manager had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to remedy it.
