How to book the best Atlantic Beach vacation rental experience:
How to get the best value:
- Summer months are high season in Atlantic Beach. Booking your New Bern vacation home in the Fall or Spring shoulder seasons is our favorite way to save money on your vacation. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of acceptable properties. Many vacationers use this method to reserve larger homes, or to reserve an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during the Summer months. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a New Bern vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation near the ocean? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with friends and family at the beach.
- Reserve your vacation rental as early as possible. Rental schedules usually become available a year in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many groups reserve their Summer vacations during Thanksgiving and Christmas gatherings. Book before these holidays for best selection.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property management company or host if your group qualifies for a special rate.
- Property management companies typically offer customers an option to obtain trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which will generally cost anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed time as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance can be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for details.
- Often, management companies and vacation rental houses supply New Bern area visitors guides which will include money-saving deals, either offered directly by local companies, or by way of a partnership between the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find New Bern visitors guide magazine and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.
How to pick the perfect rental in Atlantic Beach:
- First, have your group decide on a vacation week and a budget.
- Determine how many bedrooms and the bed configuration you need. Sea Lookout - Beautiful Views of Cape Lookout! Private elevator access! has 4 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our New Bern rentals search.
- Specific details about bedrooms and bed counts is normally accessible online. Otherwise, contact the property owner before reserving the rental. Remember that most properties list the max. guest capacity, which frequently includes sofa beds in living rooms. You'll need to establish which bed configuration is right for your vacation group.
- Is your family looking for unique amenities? Most websites include search filters for amenities. Filtering by amenity will allow you to quickly find your ideal rental home.
- Proper accessibility can make or break a vacation for those with limited mobility. Remember to confirm all necessary amenities are available before booking
- Some properties allow pets, but some don't. Acceptable types of family pet, weight and breeds may be restricted, and additional charges may apply. Ask the host about your furry family members before booking.
More considerations:
- Take a copy of the host's contact number and entry/exit procedures for your rental home. We recommend storing the manager's information in your smartphone.
- Note any issues with the property upon arrival, and immediately send them to the host. We specifically recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that can be valuable if a dispute is filed.
- Hosts are great sources of help! Don't be shy to ask questions during your stay.
- Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking restrictions can make a stay more pleasurable. You'll magnify your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors can be an incredible source for finding the best local restaurants, beaches, and hangouts.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Local residents can frequently help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to grab the best tacos, have a great night out, or the best spots for shopping?
- Protect the property owner (and your stuff!) by locking and securing the home while you are out, just like you would back home.
- Don't leave anything behind! Just before you drive away, walk through the property to confirm you've collected all personal items. Re-check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden items. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Record a video to document the condition of the property.
- Leave a review! Hosts rely on great ratings to drive future bookings. They'll be thankful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something went wrong, other vacationing families will be thankful you shared your review find their best rental home. Be fair with your review. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the owner could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to remedy it.
