How to get the best Atlantic Beach vacation property experience:
Get the best rental value:
- Summertime is high season in Atlantic Beach. To find the best value, change your trip dates to the Spring or Fall months. May, September, and October offer great weather, less crowded beaches, and greatly reduced traffic. Many vacationers use this method to reserve larger homes, or to reserve a beach front rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during the high season.
- Reserve your vacation home as early as possible. Rental schedules usually become available a year in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many groups book their Summer rentals during Christmas and Thanksgiving get-togethers. Book before these holidays for best selection.
- Some hosts offer promotional rates for veterans. Make sure to check with your host or property manager to see if rate reductions are available for your group.
- Management companies and individual rental owners usually offer customers an option to add vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which commonly will cost anywhere between 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any days missed as a result of medical-related issues or weather, as well as ensuing additional evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for specifics.
- Many rental management companies supply New Bern area visitors guide magazines which will include special offers, either offered directly by local businesses, or by way of a relationship with the management company and the business itself. You can also find New Bern visitors guide magazine and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.
How to choose and book a perfect New Bern vacation home:
- Begin by selecting your trip dates and a maximum budget.
- Determine how many bedrooms and the configuration your family needs. Classic Oceanfront Beach Cottage by Oceanana Pier has 5 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our rental home search.
- Precise information regarding bedrooms and bed counts & types is commonly available on booking websites. Otherwise, contact the host before you reserve your rental. Remember that most listings specify maximum guest capacity, which often includes pull-out couches and bunk beds. You will need to work out what bed configuration is suitable for your vacation family.
- If there's a particular New Bern attraction you are enamored with, search for homes that are either close by, or those that cater to your needs.
- Proper accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for guests with disabilities. Confirm all required amenities are available before booking
- Some rentals allow pets, and some do not. Acceptable types of pet, size and breeds may be restricted, and added costs may apply. Ask the property management company about your furry family members before booking.
Some things to know before you go:
- Review check in & check out procedures before leaving home. Add a note with the instructions to your smartphone, and take a printed copy.
- To make sure that damages aren't attributed to your family's visit, record any problem areas upon your arrival. Make contact with the property manager right away to relay any pre-existing damages. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having the recorded issues and contact attempts will be helpful.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a fireplace, stereo or coffee maker. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief call prevents a lot of concerns.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like unpleasant vacationers disrupting your peaceful home. Use the golden rule for common sense. Happy residents may even recommend great beaches and scenic spots you would've never otherwise known!
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Local residents can typically help. Who better to ask where to charter a fishing boat, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for bird watching?
- Ensure you protect the property owner (and your stuff!) by locking and securing the home while you are out, just like you would back home.
- Just before checking out, complete a final walk-through to make sure you have not forget anything. Remember to check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden items. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
- Did you have a terrific stay? Many rental managers make it easy for clients to provide feedback. If your rental property and/or property management company was wonderful, they would love to hear about it. If anything was amiss and they failed to correct it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your feedback.
