Rental property booking tips:
Find your best deal:
- Summertime is the most expensive season in Emerald Isle. Book your rental property in Fall or Spring months to enjoy gorgeous weather while saving money and avoiding crowded roads, restaurants, and activities. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a New Bern vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation on the coast? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with family and friends at your favorite beach.
- Reserve your rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules often open 12 months in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many groups book their Summer rentals during Winter holiday gatherings. Book before these holidays for best selection.
- Some property management companies offer discounts for veterans and active duty military. Ask your host or property manager if special offers are available for your group.
- Property managers often offer customers an option to purchase trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which will generally cost 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed days as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance can be a a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for details.
- Look for your local visitors guide upon checking in. If your rental home doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers. In addition to great articles, visitor guide magazines contain offers and deals for local tours, shops, and attractions.
Planning and picking the right New Bern vacation home:
- Choose your vacation week and max budget.
- Note the number beds and the configuration your family needs. Better Daze, Oceanfront House in Emerald Isle, NC! has 5 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
- Specific information regarding bedrooms and bed counts is regularly available on booking pages. If you don't see them listed, email the property manager before you reserve your rental. Remember that most properties list maximum guest capacity, which usually includes sofa beds. You'll need to determine which bed configuration is suitable for your vacation group.
- Are you visiting for a single event? If so, use a map search to browse nearby rentals.
- Suitable accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. .
- Remember to include your furry companions! Although a number of vacation homes allow pets or animals, guidelines and costs vary per property. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Ask your property manager before booking, and study your agreement thoroughly! Additional fees or costs applied to your contract.
Advice for your stay:
- Get the property manager's phone number and check in/check out procedures for your rental property.
- To ensure that no damages are linked to your family's visit, inspect for any problem areas during arrival. Get in touch with the host immediately to record your findings. If there is a dispute, having the recorded concerns and contact attempts will be valuable.
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a fireplace, television set or thermostat. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief telephone call prevents a lot of difficulties.
- Be respectful. Often times, nearby homes are filled by local residents. Respecting noise limits and parking regulations is the right thing to do.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Locals can typically help. Who better to ask where to get the best breakfast in town, have a great night out, or the best spots for fishing?
- Ensure you protect the property owner (and your things!) by locking the rental while you are away, just like you would back home.
- Don't leave anything behind! Just before departing, take a walk through the rental property to confirm you've collected all personal items. Re-check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden items. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Inspect the rental a final time and scan for damages to contents or the property itself. We suggest inspecting the property with the property manager whenever you can. If the host isn't available, take photos and video of the property to record its condition at check-out.
- Did your family have a excellent time? Many rental management companies make it easy for vacationers to provide comments. If your rental property and/or host was great, they would love to hear about it. If anything was wrong and they failed to correct it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your feedback.
