Tricks and tips to get the very best New Bern rental experience:
Cost saving strategies:
- June, July, and August are high season in Emerald Isle. Booking a rental in the Spring or Fall is our best tip for saving money on your vacation. Rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of suitable properties.
- In the New Bern area, The sooner you can book a rental home, the easier your search will be. The best rental homes are reserved very early. Booking your vacation property up to 12 months before your travel dates is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to search for and book your vacation rental.
- Some hosts and property managers offer discounts or promotional rates for active duty military and veterans. It's always a good idea to check with your host or property manager to see if special offers are available for your family.
- Property management companies typically offer guests an option to buy trip insurance. Trip insurance, which normally costs between 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed trip time as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel stay or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for details.
- Many management companies and vacation rental houses supply New Bern area visitors guides which include special offers, either offered directly by local businesses, or by way of a relationship with the property management company and the business itself. You can also find New Bern visitors guide and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.
How to pick the perfect vacation home in the New Bern area:
- To start, have your family agree to trip dates and a max budget.
- Determine how many beds and the configuration you need. Best Views on Emerald Isle has 4 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our New Bern vacation rental search.
- Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed types is normally available on booking pages. If you don't see them listed, reach out to the host before you reserve the home. Note that most listings specify the max. guest capacity, which typically includes pull-out couches. You'll need to determine what configuration is optimal for your family.
- If there's a certain New Bern attraction you crave, browse properties that are either nearby, or those that cater especially to your requirements.
- Proper accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for persons with disabilities. Confirm all required amenities are available before booking.
- Remember to include your furry companions! Although a number of vacation homes allow pets or animals, guidelines and costs vary per property. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Ask your property manager before booking, and study your agreement! Additional pet fees or may be applied to your agreement.
More considerations for your visit:
- Add the host's contact info to your smartphone. Print and take a copy of arrival/departure procedures.
- To make sure no damages are attributed to your stay, inspect the property for any problem areas when you arrive. Make contact with the property manager right away to document any issues. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having a record of concerns and contact attempts will be useful.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a hot tub, elevator or appliance. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief phone call prevents a lot of problems.
- Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking regulations can make a stay more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You'll increase your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors are usually an incredible resource to find the best local beaches and hangouts.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Residents can typically help. Who better to ask where to charter a fishing boat, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for crabbing?
- Protect the owner (and your things!) by locking and securing the home while you are away, just like you would at home.
- Don't leave anything behind! Before you drive away, walk through the property to reconfirm you've collected all personal items. Remember to check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden items. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Inspect the property one final time and scan for damages to contents or the property itself. We suggest inspecting the property with the host whenever possible. If the host isn't available, take video of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
- Remember to leave a review! Property owners rely on excellent feedback to inspire more reservations. They'll be thankful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something wasn't right, other families will appreciate that you share your review find their best vacation rental.
