Tricks and tips to get the perfect vacation rental experience:
How to get the best value:
- In the New Bern area, The earlier you can book a vacation rental, the easier your search will be. The best rental homes are reserved early. Booking your vacation rental six to twelve months before your vacation dates is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to plan and book your vacation rental.
- To get the best vacation home within your budget, we recommend booking in the Fall or Spring. You'll enjoy lower rental rates, greater selection, beautiful weather and the absence of large crowds at New Bern restaurants, tours, and activities.
- Property management companies sometimes offer special rates for veterans and active duty military. Ask your host or property manager if special offers are available for your group.
- Booking websites often offer guests an option to add trip insurance. Trip insurance, which normally will cost you 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed time as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance can be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for program terms and fees.
- Look for your local New Bern area magazine upon checking in. If your rental doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great local stories, visitors guides have discounts for local attractions, tours, restaurants, and shops.
Selecting the perfect rental in Atlantic Beach:
- To start, have your family agree to trip dates and a max budget.
- Determine how many bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration your family requires. Pet Friendly Oceanside Townhome in Atlantic Beach, NC-Barefoot Ventures has 4 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms.
- Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts & types is usually accessible on booking websites. If they are not listed, contact the property management company before you book the rental. Note that most listings specify the max. guest capacity, which typically includes sofa beds.
- If your family is traveling with pets, filter your search for a pet-friendly property. Make sure to ask for specifics on breed, size, and type requirements. Be aware that some property managers require additional pet deposits and fees.
- If there's a certain New Bern beach you love, look for homes that are either close by, or those that cater especially to your needs.
- Suitable accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for the less-mobile. .
More considerations for your visit:
- Add the host's contact info to your smartphone. Print and take a copy of check in/check out procedures.
- Hosts are there to help! Feel free to ask questions during your stay.
- Protect the owner (and your stuff!) by keeping the rental locked up while you are gone, just like you would at home.
- To ensure that damages aren't linked to your stay, inspect for any problem areas upon your arrival. Get in touch with the host immediately to record any pre-existing damages. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having a record of concerns and contact attempts will be helpful.
- Be respectful. Often, adjacent homes are occupied by local residents. Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking policies is the right thing to do.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Neighbors can usually help. Who better to ask where to order delicious takeout, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fishing?
- Don't leave anything behind! Just before you drive away, take a walk through the rental property to confirm you've collected all personal belongings. Re-check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden treasure. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Inspect the property one final time and look for any damage. We advise inspecting the property with the property manager whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the manager isn't available, remember to take video and pictures of the rental to record its condition.
- Remember to leave a review! Hosts rely on excellent reviews to stimulate future reservations. They'll be grateful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something wasn't right, other vacationers will will be grateful for your feedback find their best vacation home. Remember to be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the host had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to fix it.
