Strategies to get the perfect New Bern vacation property experience:
Getting the best value:
- In the New Bern area, The sooner you can book a vacation home, the better your selection will be. The most desirable rental homes are booked early. Reserving your vacation home up to twelve months before your vacation is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to plan and reserve your vacation home.
- To find the best rental for your budget, we suggest reserving in Fall or Spring. You'll enjoy lower rental rates, better selection, beautiful weather and the absence of large crowds at New Bern restaurants, beaches, and activities.
- Owners sometimes offer promotional rates for veterans and active duty military. Ask your property manager if special offers are available for your family before you book.
- Property managers often offer renters an option to purchase vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which will generally cost between 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed time as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather, as well as evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance can be a a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for additional information.
- Often, property management companies supply New Bern area visitors guide magazines that include coupons, either offered directly by local businesses, or by way of a relationship with the property management company and the business itself. You can also find New Bern visitors guide magazine and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.
Make a plan and pick your New Bern rental home:
- Select a group leader, select your vacation week, and select a max budget.
- Decide how many beds and the configuration your group needs. 2 Seasters' Cottage, Almost Oceanfront Duplex in Emerald Isle, NC! has 4 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms.
- Specific details about bedrooms and bed types is often available on booking pages. If not, email or call the property owner before you reserve the vacation home. Note that most property listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which frequently includes pull out couches in living rooms.
- Do your family pets travel with you? Although a number of vacation homes allow pets or animals, guidelines and costs vary per property. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Remember to ask your host before booking, and study your agreement thoroughly! Additional fees or charges could be applied to your invoice.
- If there's a particular New Bern attraction you simply love, look for properties that are either nearby, or those that cater especially to your needs.
- Proper accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for those with limited mobility. .
More tips for your stay:
- Add the owner's contact information to your phone. Print and take a copy of check in/check out procedures.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a fireplace, elevator or appliance. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief call can prevent quite a few difficulties.
- Lock your vacation home while you're out and about. Keep your property safe!
- To make sure that damages are not attributed to your family's visit, record any problem areas upon check in. E-mail the property manager immediately to document any pre-existing damages. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having a record of problems and contact attempts will be very helpful.
- Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking restrictions can make a stay more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You will increase your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors are a terrific source for finding the best local restaurants, beaches, and hangouts.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Locals can often help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to book the best tours, have a great night out, or the best spots for shopping?
- When it's time to leave, take a walk-through to confirm you didn't forget any personal items. Remember to check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden items. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Go through the rental one final time and look for any damage. We recommend walking through with the host whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the host isn't available, remember to take photos of the property to record its condition.
- Did your group have a excellent vacation? Many vacation rental websites make it easy for guests to provide reviews. If your rental and/or property manager was fantastic, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was defective and they failed to address it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your feedback.
