*Pool heat is supplied in the rate from October to December. If you would like the pool heated for other dates, please inquire. Pool heat must be paid for at least 48 hours before check-in.

*There is a floodlight camera facing the street and front yard for security. It does not look onto the pool or any hangout space.

*There is no fence between the home and the sea wall. This home may not be appropriate for modest kids.

You can’t help but imagine all the potential fun in this gem of a home only a short walk from the Atlantic Ocean. Inside, you step into a living room with modern updates but plenty of casual, retro coolness. A wood burning fireplace and flat-screen intelligent TV and stereo promise cozy coastal ambiance alongside surf memorabilia and a comfortable collection of furnishings that inspire relaxation. Our home has been thoughtfully designed, furnished and appointed with everything you will need to feel right at home! I want you to feel like you're staying at your home away from home!

You can dine at the live-edge table near the fireplace or step into the more casual dining area in the kitchen with four seats at the breakfast bar. The living and dining room is flanked by two sets of French doors that offer double the outdoor options and tons of natural light. The completely equipped kitchen has an electric cooktop, convection oven, refrigerator, microwave and dishwasher; all you’ll need for casual dining for your hungry surfers. You can dine outdoors, too, in a pretty, private yard with tables and lounge space located on both levels. Follow the path to the dock for yet another spot to gather! Upstairs, you will also find two thoughtfully designed bedrooms and the freshly modernized guest bath.

Downstairs you will find a private primary suite, laundry room, den and game table that seats 6 or more. Books and games are supplied for your enjoyment.

You will appreciate the privacy of the saltwater pool, fire pit, covered porch and deck after a long day at the ocean! You can even watch the wildlife in the canal right from the living room! Three ocean access points are a short walk away - one with golf cart parking. The sound side location and access to Bogue Sound right from the yard make this an ideal place for your beach vacation. Bring your friends and family to the Surf Shack and savor the coastal vibe!

Just a short walk to the beach. You're about 2 and a half blocks away which is closer than some ocean side properties on the island.

A Vacation Rental Agreement and valid photo ID is required to book.

We follow the cancellation policy and strongly suggest that you purchase trip insurance for your stay. We do not refund outside our cancellation policy.

Although our home has been remodeled, it is not a new home. Please use caution on the sea wall. We like the quirky vibes of a classic beach bungalow. If you are looking for a brand-new place, this is not for you.

About the Area

Located in Emerald Isle, this vacation home is on the waterfront. Flatwaters Paddling and Emerald Isle Adventures are local attractions and those in the mood for shopping can visit Emerald Plantation and Beach Wheels Bike Rental. Traveling with kids? Consider The Sweet Spot and Emerald Forest Golf. Be sure to check out the area's animals with activities such as game walks and birdwatching.

Sticking to a rental home budget:

  • The earlier your group can book a vacation home, the better your selection will be. The most desirable rental properties are reserved very early. Booking your rental six to twelve months before your travel dates is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to plan and book your rental home.
  • June, July, and August are the most expensive months in Emerald Isle. To find the largest rental within budget, we recommend reserving in Fall or Spring months. You'll enjoy lower rates, greater selection, beautiful weather and the absence of large crowds at New Bern restaurants, beaches, and activities. Many vacationers use this method to find larger homes within budget, or to book a beach front vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable during the high season.
  • Some owners offer discounts or promotional rates for veterans and active duty military. Check with your property manager to see if rate reductions are available for your group before you book.
  • Booking websites frequently offer their guests an option to buy vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which commonly costs between 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed time as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel or extra gasoline expenses.
