Tips to get the best Atlantic Beach vacation property experience:

When to go & When to book:

  • Summertime is the most expensive season in Atlantic Beach. Book your New Bern vacation home in Fall or Spring to get the benefit of warm weather while saving money and avoiding crowded roads, restaurants, and activities. Many vacationers use this method to find larger homes within budget, or to book an oceanfront rental that would otherwise be unavailable during the high season.
  • Book your vacation rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules often open a year in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many families book their Summer vacation rentals during holiday get-togethers. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
  • Some hosts and property managers offer promotional rates for active duty military and veterans. Remember to ask your host or property manager if special offers are available for your family.
  • Management companies and individual rental owners typically offer guests an option to obtain trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which generally will cost anywhere between 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed time as a result of medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance might be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for details.
  • Many management companies supply New Bern area visitor guides which often include special offers, either offered directly by local companies, or by way of a partnership between the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find New Bern visitors guide and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.

Use filters to narrow your search:

  • To start, have your group choose a vacation week and a max budget.
  • Decide how many bedrooms and the configuration your family needs. Spacious 1BR 1BA with Full Kitchen and Living Room - 3 min walk to the beach has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
  • Specific details about bedrooms and bed counts & types is almost always accessible on booking pages. If they are not listed, reach out to the host before you book the vacation property. Remember that most properties list the max. guest capacity, which frequently includes pull out couches in living rooms.
  • If there's a particular New Bern attraction you simply love, browse homes that are either close by, or those that cater to your desires.
  • Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for guests with disabilities. Make certain to inquire about wheel chair entry, pool lifts and specialized equipment needs.
  • Do your family pets travel with you? Although a number of vacation homes allow pets or animals, guidelines and costs vary per property. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Remember to ask the property manager before booking, and study your agreement! Additional fees or could be applied to your contract.

Have a great stay:

  • Add the property manager's information to your smartphone. Understand and take a copy of check in/check out procedures.
  • To make sure damages aren't attributed to your family's stay, make a record of any problem areas upon your arrival. Make contact with the rental manager immediately to relay any issues. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having the recorded problems and contact attempts will be helpful.
  • Ask questions. You may want instructions for a garage door opener, intercom or coffee maker. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief text message prevents quite a few difficulties.
  • Respecting quiet hours and parking policies can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. You will enhance your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors are a terrific resource to find the best local attractions.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Residents can often help. Who better to ask where to order delicious takeout, have a great night out, or the best spots for BBQ?
  • Lock your vacation home while you're out. Keep your property safe!
  • At departure, take a walk-through to confirm you have not leave anything behind. Remember to check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden treasure. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Record a video to document the condition of the property.
  • After your trip, leave feedback! Hosts rely on good ratings to compel more reservations. They'll be thankful for your review. Alternatively, if something wasn't as described, other vacationers will will be grateful for your feedback and help them have the best future vacation. Please be fair with your feedback If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the owner had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to fix it.
