Tricks and tips for getting the best vacation rental experience:

Sticking to a spending plan:

  • Summertime is high season in Emerald Isle. Reserve your rental in Spring or Fall to enjoy beautiful weather while saving money and avoiding crowded roads, restaurants, and activities. Many vacationers use this method to reserve larger homes, or to reserve a beach front rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during the high season.
  • In the New Bern area, The sooner you can book a vacation rental, the easier your search will be. The most desirable vacation rentals are booked early. Booking your vacation property up to twelve months before your vacation is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to search for and reserve your rental property.
  • Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager or host whether your family qualifies for a price reduction.
  • Property management companies typically offer renters an option to purchase trip insurance. Trip insurance, which commonly will cost you between 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed time as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance can be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for more information.
  • Find a copy of your local visitors guide when you arrive at the rental property. If your rental property doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great local stories, visitor guides contain deals for local attractions, tours, restaurants, and shops.

Selecting the best vacation home:

  • First and foremost, have your group choose the best dates and a budget.
  • Determine how many bedrooms and the configuration you need. Pebble Beach F-103, Oceanside Condo in Emerald Isle, NC! has 2 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
  • Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is generally accessible on booking websites. If you don't see them listed, contact the property management company before you reserve the rental. Remember that most properties list the maximum guest capacity, which usually includes pull-out couches.
  • If there's a certain New Bern beach you simply love, keep an eye out for homes that are either nearby, or those that cater especially to your requirements.
  • Appropriate accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for persons with disabilities. Confirm all necessary amenities are available before reserving a rental.
  • If your family is traveling with pets, filter your search for a pet-friendly property. Request information on breed, weight, and type requirements. Be aware that some property managers require additional pet deposits and fees.

Have a wonderful stay:

  • Add the owner's contact info to your phone. Take a copy of check in/check out procedures.
  • To make sure that damages are not attributed to your stay, inspect the property for any problem areas upon check in. Speak to the property manager right away to report any damages. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having the recorded issues and contact attempts will be valuable.
  • Ask questions. You may want instructions for a fireplace, elevator or thermostat. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief telephone call can prevent a lot of issues.
  • Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking regulations can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You'll enhance your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors can be a terrific resource to find the best local beaches and hangouts.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local! Local residents can often help. Who better to ask where to find the best seashells, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for shopping?
  • Lock your rental while you're out and about. Protect your property!
  • When it's time to leave, take a walk-through to confirm you didn't forget anything. Make sure to check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden items. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Go through the property one final time and keep an eye out for any damage. We recommend walking through with the host whenever possible. If the manager isn't available, ensure that you take photos of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
  • Did your family have a excellent vacation? Most rental managers make it easy for clients to provide comments. If your rental property and/or host was wonderful, they would love to hear it. If anything was imperfect and they failed to address it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your feedback.
