Atlantic Beach rental home booking tips and tricks:
When to reserve a New Bern rental home & When to go:
- Summertime is high season in Atlantic Beach. To get the best value, try shifting your vacation week to the Spring or Fall months. May, September, and October offer warmer weather, less crowded beaches, and greatly reduced traffic. Many vacationers use this method to find larger homes within budget, or to book an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable during the high season.
- Reserve your vacation rental as early as possible. Rental schedules usually become available 12 months in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many families reserve their Summer vacation rentals during Thanksgiving and Christmas get-togethers. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
- Hosts sometimes offer special rates for veterans and active duty military. Remember to ask your property manager if special discounts are available for your group.
- Property managers typically offer renters an option to purchase trip insurance. Trip insurance, which generally will cost you 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any days missed as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as ensuing additional evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance might be a a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for specifics.
- Often, rental management companies supply New Bern area visitors guide magazines which include special deals, either offered directly by local companies, or through a partnership between the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find visitors guide and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.
Use filters to narrow your search:
- First and foremost, have your family commit to date ranges and a max budget.
- Decide how many beds and the configuration your group requires. King Suite-Unit 502 - Island Inn Atlantic Beach has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
- Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts & types is normally accessible on booking websites. Otherwise, call the property owner before you reserve the property. Remember that most property listings specify maximum guest capacity, which frequently includes pull-out couches and bunk beds. You will need to determine what is optimal for your group.

Make sure to ask before booking, and study your rental agreement! Additional fees or might be applied to your invoice.
Some things to know before you go:
- Add the owner's information to your smartphone. Take a copy of arrival/departure procedures.
- To make certain that damages are not attributed to your stay, make note of any problem areas during check in. Call the host immediately to report your findings. If there is a dispute, having the recorded issues and contact attempts will be helpful.
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a garage door opener, stereo or thermostat. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief telephone call prevents many difficulties.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like obnoxious visitors bothering your peace and quiet. Practice the golden rule for common sense. If they like you, locals might even recommend great beaches and places you would have never otherwise known!
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Locals can usually help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to rent beach equipment, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for BBQ?
- Lock your rental property while you're gone! Don't let burglars ruin your vacation.
- Just before checking out, complete a walk-through to confirm you have not forget anything. Re-check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden items. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Inspect the rental one final time and keep an eye out for damages to contents or the property itself. We suggest inspecting the property with the property manager whenever you can. If the property manager isn't available, take pictures of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
- After your trip, leave feedback! Property owners rely on excellent feedback to stimulate more reservations. They'll be much obliged for your review. Alternatively, if something went wrong, other families will be thankful you shared your experience find their best vacation rental. Remember to be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the manager had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to remedy it.
