Our top Emerald Isle rental home booking tips:
Getting the most from your rental home budget:
- June, July, and August are high season in Emerald Isle. Booking your vacation home in the Spring or Fall is our best tip for saving money on your vacation rental. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of desirable homes. Many vacationers use this strategy to find larger homes within budget, or to book a beach front rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during June, July, and August.
- Reserve your vacation home as early as possible. Rental schedules generally open a year in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many families reserve their Summer rentals during Christmas and Thanksgiving gatherings. Book before these holidays for best selection.
- Owners sometimes offer rate reductions for veterans. Check with your property manager to see if special offers are available for your group before you book.
- Management companies and individual rental owners often offer their guests an option to purchase vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which will generally cost 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed vacation time as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather, as well as ensuing additional evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel stay or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for additional information.
- Often, management companies and vacation rental houses supply New Bern area visitor guides that include money-saving deals, either offered directly by local businesses, or through a partnership between the property management company and the business itself. You can also find New Bern visitors guide and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.
Make a plan and pick your New Bern rental:
- Start by choosing the best vacation week and a maximum budget.
- Decide how many bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration your family needs. OCEANFRONT SPECTACULAR !! has 4 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms.
- Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts & types is often accessible on booking pages. If they are not listed, reach out to the property manager before you book the vacation home. Remember that most property listings specify maximum guest capacity, which typically includes sofa beds in living rooms.
- Visiting for a specific event? Use a map search to browse nearby rentals.
- Proper accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for the less-mobile. Confirm all required amenities are available and included before booking
- Some properties allow pets, and some don't. Allowable types of family pet, size and breeds may be restricted, and added charges may apply. Ask the owner about your furry family members before booking.
Advice for a fantastic stay:
- Be sure you get the property manager's phone number and arrival/departure procedures for your rental home. Put the host's information in your smartphone and wallet.
- Upon arrival, document any damages to the rental property and immediately contact the host. Keep records of all coorespondence.
- Hosts are there to help! Feel free to ask any questions before, during, or after your stay.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like loud vacationers disrupting your peaceful home life. Employ the golden rule for best judgement. Happy residents may even recommend great beaches and places you would've never otherwise known!
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Local residents can often help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to get the best seafood, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fine dining?
- Lock your rental home while you're out. Protect the owner's property and your stuff!
- Double-check every room of the property to make sure that you've packed all of your belongings on check-out day. Re-check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden belongings. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Record a video to document the condition of the property.
- Did you have a terrific vacation? Many rental home management companies make it easy for clients to provide comments. If your property and/or property management company was wonderful, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was inoperable and they failed to address it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your review.
