Tips and Tricks to get the perfect Atlantic Beach rental home experience:

How to get the best value:

  • Book your rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules usually open twelve months in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many families reserve their Summer rental homes during Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years Eve get-togethers. Book before these holidays for best selection.
  • Summer is the most expensive season in the New Bern area. Reserving a rental home in the Spring or Fall is an excellent way to save on your vacation home. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of acceptable properties.
  • Property management companies sometimes offer discounts or promotional rates for veterans and active duty military. It's always a good idea to check with your host or property manager to see if special offers are available for your family.
  • Booking websites usually offer guests an option to purchase trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally costs 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed vacation time as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance might be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for details.
  • Find a copy of your local New Bern area magazine upon arrival. If your rental home doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers. In addition to great local stories, travel guide magazines contain money saving offers on local attractions, tours, restaurants, and shops.

Make a plan and choose the best New Bern rental home:

  • First and foremost, have your group choose a vacation week and a max budget.
  • Note the number bedrooms and the configuration your family requires. Double Queen-Unit 201 has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
  • Specific information regarding bedrooms and bed types is commonly accessible online. If not, email or call the property owner before you reserve your home. Remember that most property listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which often includes sofa beds and bunks. You'll need to work out what configuration is best for your group.
  • If your family is traveling with pets, you must book a rental that allows animals. Ask for details on breed, weight, and type requirements. Usually, property managers charge additional pet fees.
  • Looking for unique amenities? Most rental search websites include search filters for amenities. Filtering by amenity will allow you to quickly find the best rental.
  • Suitable accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for guests with disabilities. .

More tips for your visit:

  • Take a copy of the host's phone number and entry/exit procedures for your rental home.
  • Property managers are there to help! Don't be shy to ask questions during your stay.
  • Keep your rental home locked while you are away! Don't let burglars ruin your vacation.
  • At Check-in, make note of any issues with the rental property and immediately alert the property manager. Keep records of all coorespondence.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like obnoxious vacationers disrupting your peace. Apply the golden rule for best judgement. If they like you, locals might even recommend great beaches and places you would've not otherwise known!
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Local residents can frequently help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to book the best tours, have a great night out, or the best spots for fishing?
  • Don't leave anything behind! Just before departing, walk through the property to confirm you've collected everything. Make sure to check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden items. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
  • Did you have a fantastic vacation? Many rental websites make it easy for vacationers to provide reviews. If your rental property and/or property management company was terrific, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was amiss and they failed to fix it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your comments.
