About this Property

  • Sleeps 8
  • 5 Bedrooms
  • 3 Bathrooms
  • Private vacation home
  • Approximately 2000 square feet

You will adore this classic beach home that sits right on the ocean with upstairs and downstairs porches affording fantastic vistas and ocean access! It is comfortable and cozy, old school, with no frills, but with all that is needed for a fun stay at the beach in a super location.

There are 2 full baths with showers, a third bath with a claw foot tub, and another half bath.

The downstairs master has private bath and king bed. The upstairs has 4 bedrooms, 2 with king size beds. One of the king rooms also has 3 twins and is usually claimed by our grandchildren. The other 2 bedrooms upstairs have queen size beds. There is a full bath with shower upstairs as well as a half bath.
Additionally, there is an outdoor shower which we all seem to prefer in the summer. All linens are supplied, towels and sheets, as well as a supplied kitchen, including mixer, blender, processor, toaster, coffee maker, pots/pans and cooking silverware. There are games, books and puzzles that tend to accumulate over the years. Bikes, beach games/toys, rafts etc camp out in the basement/garage. The washer/dryer are in the basement as well. Most of our time is spent on the porch and front deck, overlooking the ocean. There is most often a marvelous breeze and always a spectacular view. A gas grille can be rolled out of the garage for grilling. A second refrigerator is in the basement which comes in handy for additional drinks, overflow food and a little additional freezer space.
This home has been in our family a very long time and our memories from all the years are rich. It is an old classic, which we appreciate, and very comfortable, inviting you to relax and appreciate your stay at the beach. You can feel the appreciate when you walk in the door. The location is super, in a very friendly, family aligned neighborhood. Conveniently, groceries, eateries and stores are all within a mile.

How to get the best New Bern vacation rental experience:

Money saving strategies:

  • Reserve your New Bern rental property in Fall or Spring to enjoy warm weather while saving money and avoiding crowds.
  • The earlier your group can reserve a vacation home, the easier your search will be. The best rental properties are reserved early. Reserving your rental home 6-12 months before your vacation is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to search for and reserve your rental.
  • Veterans and Active Duty Military members may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager whether your group qualifies for a price reduction or discount.
  • Booking websites frequently offer renters an option to buy trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which costs 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed vacation time as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather, as well as hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for more information.
  • Often, management companies and vacation rental houses supply New Bern area travel guide magazines that include special deals, either offered independently by local businesses, or through a relationship between the management company and the business itself. You can also find New Bern visitors guide magazine and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.

Filter your rental search:

  • Begin by selecting your vacation dates and a spending budget.
  • Determine how many bedrooms and the bed configuration your family needs. Classic beach house right on the ocean. has 5 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms.
  • Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts & types is almost always available online. Otherwise, reach out to the property manager before you book your home. Note that most properties list the maximum guest capacity, which typically includes pull-out couches.
  • Visiting for a single event? Try a map search to find nearby rentals.
  • Appropriate accessibility can make or break a vacation for persons with disabilities. Confirm all necessary amenities are available before booking
  • If your group is bringing pets, you must reserve a pet-friendly property. Make sure to ask for information on breed, size, and type requirements. Be aware that some hosts charge additional pet fees.

Considerations for your stay:

  • Be sure you get the host's phone number and check in/check out procedures for your rental property. Put the host's contact information in your smartphone.
  • Note any damages to the rental at check in, and immediately e-mail them to the owner. We specifically recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain time stamps that can be valuable if there is a dispute.
  • Ask questions. You may need instructions for a fireplace, elevator or WIFI setup. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief telephone call can prevent quite a few concerns.
  • Respecting quiet hours and parking policies can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. You will enhance your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors are usually an excellent resource to find the best local beaches and hangouts.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Local residents can frequently help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to go for the best drinks, have a great night out, or the best spots for BBQ?
  • Lock your rental home while you're out and about. Protect the owner's property and your stuff!
  • Don't leave anything behind! Before you drive away, walk through the rental property to confirm you've collected all of your things. Re-check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden treasure. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Go through the rental one final time and scan for damages to contents or the property itself. We recommend inspecting the property with the host whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the manager isn't available, ensure that you take video and pictures of the property to record its condition at check-out.
  • Did your group have a great time? Most rental managers make it easy for vacationers to provide comments. If your rental property and/or host was terrific, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was defective and they failed to address it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your feedback.
