Strategies to get the best Atlantic Beach vacation rental experience:
When to visit Atlantic Beach & When to book:
- June, July, and August are the most expensive months in coastal NC. Reserving a rental home in Fall or Spring months is a good way to save money on your rental home. Rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of acceptable homes. Many vacationers use this strategy to reserve larger homes, or to reserve an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable during June, July, and August.
- The earlier your group can book a vacation rental, the easier your search will be. The best vacation rentals are reserved very early. Reserving your vacation property 6-12 months before your travel dates is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to search for and reserve your vacation home.
- Owners sometimes offer rate reductions for veterans and active duty military. Ask your host or property manager if rate reductions are available for your family before you book.
- Property managers often offer renters an option to add trip insurance. Trip insurance, which will generally cost anywhere between 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed vacation time as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel stay or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance can be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for details.
- Often, management companies and vacation rental houses supply New Bern area visitor guide magazines which often include coupons, either offered independently by local companies, or by way of a relationship with the property management company and the business itself. You can also find New Bern visitors guide and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.
Narrow your rental Search:
- Start by choosing vacation dates and a max budget.
- Decide how many bedrooms and the configuration your family requires. Beautifully Remodeled, Oceanfront, 3rd-Floor Condo with Balcony & Shared Pools has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
- Precise information about bedrooms and bed types is almost always available on booking pages. If not, contact the property management company before reserving the vacation home. Remember that most properties list maximum guest capacity, which usually includes pull-out couches.
- If there's a certain New Bern beach you love, look for homes that are either near by, or those that cater to your needs.
- Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for those with limited mobility. Make certain to inquire about specialized equipment and wheel chair accessibility.
- Do your family pets travel with you? Although a number of vacation homes allow pets or animals, guidelines and costs vary per property. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Make sure to ask before booking, and study your agreement thoroughly! Additional pet fees or may be applied to your agreement.
Have a great stay:
- Put the owner's contact information in your smartphone and wallet.
- To make certain damages aren't attributed to your stay, inspect the property for any problem areas upon check in. Get in touch with the property manager right away to report any pre-existing damages. If there is a dispute, having the recorded problems and contact attempts will be useful.
- Hosts are available to help! Feel free to ask any questions before, during, or after your stay.
- Respecting quiet hours and parking policies can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. You'll enhance your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors are often a great resource to find the best local beaches and restaurants.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Neighbors can typically point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to charter a fishing boat, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fishing?
- Keep your rental home locked while you are away! Don't let burglars ruin your trip.
- Just prior to departing, take a walk-through to make sure you haven't leave anything behind. Check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden items. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
- Did you have a wonderful vacation? Many rental websites make it easy for clients to provide comments. If your rental property and/or property management company was great, they would love to hear about it. If anything was out of order and they failed to correct it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your review.
