Our top New Bern rental property booking tips:
How to get the best rental value:
- Summer time is high season in the New Bern area. Book your vacation home in Fall or Spring months to enjoy gorgeous weather while saving money and avoiding crowds.
- In the New Bern area, The sooner you can book a rental home, the easier your search will be. The best vacation homes are booked early. Booking your rental property 6-12 months before your vacation is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to search for and reserve your rental home.
- Hosts and Property managers sometimes offer promotional rates for veterans. Check with your property manager to see if discounts are available for your group before you book.
- Property management companies typically offer guests an option to add trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally costs 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed trip time as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for more information.
- Look for your local visitors guide upon arrival. If your rental home doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great local articles, visitors guide magazines contain offers and deals for local restaurants, attractions, and tours.
Make a plan and pick your New Bern rental:
- Select a group leader, choose your vacation dates, and choose a max budget.
- Note the number bedrooms and the bed configuration your group requires. Beaufort bungalow on Belle Air has 2 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
- Precise information about bedrooms and bed counts is almost always available online. Otherwise, call the property management company before reserving the rental. Note that most property listings specify maximum guest capacity, which usually includes sofa beds. You will need to determine which bed configuration is suitable for your group.
- Is your group looking for specific amenities? Most rental websites include amenity lists and search filters. Amenity filters help you quickly remove less-optimal properties.
- Suitable accessibility can make or break a vacation for persons with a disability. Confirm all required amenities are available and included before reserving a rental.
- Are you traveling with furry, four-legged family members? Although a number of vacation homes allow pets or animals, guidelines and costs vary per property. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Make sure to ask before booking, and study your agreement! Extra fees or could be applied to your agreement.
Advice for a great stay:
- Add the owner's contact info to your phone. Print and take a copy of arrival/departure procedures.
- Note any issues with the rental upon arrival, and immediately send them to the host. We specifically recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain time stamps that can be beneficial if damages are attributed to your stay.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a fireplace, A/V setup or washer/dryer. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief telephone call can prevent quite a few problems.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like obnoxious vacationers disrupting your peace and quiet. Apply the golden rule for common sense. Happy residents may even recommend great beaches and attractions you would've never otherwise known about!
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Locals can frequently help. Who better to ask where to book the best tours, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fishing?
- Lock your vacation home while you are out. Protect your property!
- Don't leave anything behind! Just before departing, walk through the property to make sure you've collected all personal belongings. Make sure to check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden belongings. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Record a video to document the condition of the property.
- Did your family have a excellent time? Many rental managers make it easy for customers to provide reviews. If your rental property and/or property manager was terrific, they would love to hear it. If anything was imperfect and they failed to address it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your review.
