Getting the best rental home experience:

Getting the best rental value:

  • Summer months are high season in the New Bern area. To book the largest rental home within budget, we highly recommend booking in Fall or Spring. You'll enjoy lower rates, better selection, gorgeous weather and the absence of giant crowds at the beach and popular New Bern attractions.
  • In the New Bern area, The sooner you can book a rental home, the better your selection will be. The best vacation rentals are reserved very early. Booking your rental up to 12 months before your travel dates is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to search for and reserve your rental.
  • Hosts sometimes offer discounts or promotional rates for active duty military and veterans. It's always a good idea to check with your host or property manager to see if rate reductions are available for your family before you book.
  • Property managers frequently offer guests an option to add trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally costs between 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed time as a result of medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for program terms and fees.
  • Often, management companies and vacation rental houses supply New Bern area travel guides which often include coupons, either offered independently by local businesses, or by way of a relationship between the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find visitors guide and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.

Planning, selecting, and booking the right New Bern rental home:

  • Begin by choosing your trip dates and a spending budget.
  • Note the number beds and the bed configuration your family needs. Spectacular Sunrises over the Waters of North River has 3 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms.
  • Precise details about bedrooms and bed counts is commonly available on booking pages. If they are not listed, email or call the property manager before reserving the vacation property. Remember that most listings specify maximum guest capacity, which usually includes pull out couches in living rooms.
  • Is your group looking for particular amenities? Most rental search websites include amenity lists and search filters. Use these to your advantage to find the perfect rental home.
  • Suitable accessibility can make or break a vacation for the less-mobile. Confirm all necessary amenities are available before reserving a rental.
  • Traveling with pets? Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Ask your host before booking, and study your agreement! Pet fees or could be applied to your agreement.

Have a great stay:

  • Add the host's contact info to your phone. Print and take a copy of arrival/departure procedures.
  • Note any damages to the rental upon arrival, and immediately send them to the property manager. We especially recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain time stamps that can be beneficial if a dispute arises.
  • Hosts are available to help! Feel free to ask any questions during your stay.
  • Be a good neighbor. Often, adjacent homes are filled by permanent residents. Respecting late-night noise limits and parking policies is the right thing to do.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Residents can often help. Who better to ask where to find the best bike paths, have a great night out, or the best spots for bird watching?
  • Lock your rental while you're out and about. Keep your property safe!
  • Double-check every room of the vacation property to confirm that you've packed all belongings at check-out. Remember to check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden treasure. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Record a video to document the condition of the property.
  • Leave feedback! Property owners rely on great feedback to propel future bookings. They'll be grateful for your review. Alternatively, if something wasn't as described, other families will be thankful you shared your feedback and help them have the best future vacation. Be fair with your review. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the host had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to fix it.
