Atlantic Beach, NC. Guests are sure to appreciate a memorable vacation in this cedar shake, all-wood interior, entirely furnished, 4 bedroom/ 4.5 bath beach home. The master bedroom has a king sized bed, the others are furnished with a queen-sized bed, 2 twin beds and an additional sizable bedroom featuring 2 doubles. The home sleeps 8-10 comfortably. The indoor spaces feature original artwork, unique furnishings, and the kitchen is equipped with nearly new appliances and cookware. Located on the second row, the beach is just steps away. On the cavernous front porch, guests can savor ocean vistas, cool breezes and splendid sunsets. And the best nap/ book reading in the world is to be found while calming on the front porch hanging bed. There is also a enormous side screened porch, back deck & outdoor shower.
When not on the wide, soft sand beach (less than a three-min. walk), enjoy close by attractions such as cycling in various parts of Bogue Island, touring historic Fort Macon State Park, taking boat excursions (or your own boat) to Cape Lookout National Seashore and Lighthouse and other close by islands, seeing weekly concerts at Fort Macon, visiting the colonial town of Beaufort and its waterfront scenery and eateries, the NC Aquarium, and Morehead City eateries and nightlife, savoring a Sunset drink at the bar located at the end of the close by Oceana Fishing Pier which gives a expansive view of the coastline, or water activities including kayaking, canoeing, and surfing.
The water remains warm enough for swimming well after Labor Day so consider a long-weekend as fall begins. In winter, enjoy seeing the sun set directly over the Atlantic Ocean due to the island's orientation along the coast and the location of the sun. A sight to see!

Strategies to get the best rental experience:
Money saving strategies:
- June, July, and August are high season in the New Bern area. Booking in the Fall or Spring shoulder seasons is an excellent way to save money on your rental home. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of desirable homes.
- Book your vacation home as early as possible. Rental schedules generally become available a year in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many groups book their Summer rental homes during Thanksgiving and Christmas gatherings. Book before these holidays for best selection.
- Veterans and Active Duty Military members may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager or host whether your group qualifies for a reduced rate.
- Property managers usually offer guests an option to add vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which will generally cost anywhere between 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for days missed as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as ensuing additional evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel stay or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for additional information.
- Find a copy of your local New Bern visitors guide magazine when you check-in. If your rental doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great local stories, visitors guide magazines have offers and deals for nearby restaurants, attractions, and tours.
Planning and choosing the perfect New Bern rental home:
- Start by selecting trip dates and a max budget.
- Determine how many beds and the bed configuration your family requires. Atlantic Beach Classic Family Cottage has 4 bedrooms and 5 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our search.
- Specific information regarding bedrooms and bed counts is regularly available on booking websites. If they are not listed, email the property manager before reserving your home. Note that most property listings specify the max. guest capacity, which usually includes pull out couches in living rooms.
- If there's a specific New Bern destination you simply love, browse homes that are either near by, or those that cater to your requirements.
- Proper accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for guests with disabilities. .
- Remember to include your furry companions! Although a number of vacation homes allow pets or animals, guidelines and costs vary per property. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Remember to ask your host before booking, and study your agreement thoroughly! Additional fees or applied to your invoice.
More considerations for your visit:
- Add the property manager's contact information to your phone. Print and take a copy of arrival/departure procedures.
- Record any damages to the rental at check in, and immediately contact the owner. We especially recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain time stamps that can be useful if damages are attributed to your stay.
- Hosts are great sources of help! Don't be shy to ask any questions during your stay.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like disagreeable vacationers disrupting your peaceful neighborhood. Employ the golden rule for best judgement. If they like you, locals might even recommend great local food and places you would have not otherwise known about!
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Locals can usually point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to book the best tours, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fishing?
- Ensure you protect the rental owner (and your things!) by locking and securing the home when you are away, just like you would at home.
- Don't leave anything behind! Just before you drive away, walk through the rental property to make sure you've collected all personal items. Re-check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden items. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
- Did you have a wonderful vacation? Many rental websites make it easy for travelers to provide comments. If your rental property and/or property management company was terrific, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was defective and they failed to correct it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your review.
