Booking the best Emerald Isle vacation rental experience:
Get the most from your budget:
- To get the best value, try changing your family's New Bern vacation week to the Spring or Fall seasons. May, September, and even October offer warmer temperatures, , and greatly reduced traffic. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a New Bern vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday on the coast? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with loved ones at the beach.
- In the New Bern area, The earlier your group can book a vacation rental, the easier your search will be. The best rental properties are booked early. Reserving your vacation home six - twelve months before your vacation is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to search for and reserve your rental.
- Hosts and Property managers sometimes offer special rates for active duty military and veterans. Ask your host or property manager if special offers are available for your family before you book.
- Property management companies frequently offer renters an option to purchase vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which normally costs between 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for days missed as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather, as well as evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance can be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for program terms and fees.

You can also find New Bern area magazine and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.
Filter your rental search:

- Determine how many bedrooms and the configuration you need. Beautiful private beach house with access to sound has 4 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.

- Proper accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for persons with a disability. .
- If your group is vacationing with pets, you'll need to search for a pet-friendly rental. Request specifics on breed, weight, and type restrictions. Note that some property managers require additional pet deposits and fees.
Know before you go:
- Put the host's information in your smartphone and wallet.
- Note any issues with the property upon arrival, and immediately e-mail them to the host. We specifically recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain time stamps that can be helpful if damages are assessed.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a hot tub, A/V setup or washer/dryer. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief call prevents lots of issues.
- Respect the neighborhood. Frequently, adjacent homes are filled by local residents. Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking regulations can make a stay significantly more pleasurable.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Locals can typically point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to go for the best drinks, have a great night out, or the best spots for fine dining?
- Lock your rental while you're out. Protect the owner's property and your stuff!
- Don't leave anything behind! Before you drive away, take a walk through the rental to confirm you've collected all personal items. Re-check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden treasure. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Record a video to document the condition of the property.
- After your trip, leave a review! Property owners rely on excellent feedback to propel more reservations. They'll be much obliged for your review. Alternatively, if something wasn't as described, other families will will be grateful for your review and help them have the best future vacation. Please be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the property manager had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to remedy it.
