Finding the best New Bern rental experience:

How to get the best rental home value:

  • The earlier you can book a vacation home, the better your selection will be. The most desirable rental properties are booked early. Reserving your rental property up to 12 months before your vacation is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to plan and reserve your vacation rental.
  • Reserve your rental in the Fall or Spring shoulder seasons to get the benefit of beautiful weather while saving money and avoiding crowded roads, restaurants, and activities.
  • Veterans and Active Duty Military members may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property owner or host if your vacationing group qualifies for a special rate.
  • Management companies and individual rental owners frequently offer customers an option to buy vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which usually will cost you 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for days missed as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for specifics.
  • Find a copy of your local visitors guide when you check-in. If your rental home doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great local stories, visitors guide magazines contain discounts for local shops and restaurants.

Planning, selecting, and booking your prefectvacation home:

  • First, have your family decide on vacation dates and a max budget.
  • Determine how many bedrooms and the bed configuration you need. 2 Bed, 2 Bath Oceanfront Condo at Island Beach & Racquet Club ~2025 Updates~ has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
  • Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts is usually accessible on booking pages. If they are not listed, email the property manager before reserving the rental. Remember that most property listings specify the max. guest capacity, which oftentimes includes sofa beds and bunks. You will need to establish which bed configuration is optimal for your group.
  • If your group is bringing pets, you'll need to find a rental that allows animals. Make sure to ask for information on breed, weight, and type requirements. Some property owners charge pet deposits and fees.
  • Are you visiting for a specific event or attraction? Use a map search to browse nearby rentals.
  • Proper accessibility can make or break a vacation for those with limited mobility. Make certain to inquire about specialized equipment and wheel chair accessibility.

Have a wonderful stay:

  • Add the owner's phone number to your phone. Understand and take a copy of check in/check out procedures.
  • Ask questions. You may want instructions for a fireplace, television set or coffee maker. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief telephone call can prevent a lot of problems.
  • Ensure you protect the owner (and your stuff!) by locking and securing the home when you are gone, just like you would back home.
  • Document any issues with the rental at check in, and immediately send them to the host. We especially recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain time stamps that can be helpful if a dispute is filed.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like disrespectful visitors disrupting your peaceful home life. Apply the golden rule for common sense. If they like you, locals might even recommend great restaurants and attractions you would have never otherwise known!
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Neighbors can typically point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to book the best tours, have a great night out, or the best spots for fishing?
  • Re-check every room of the vacation property to confirm that you've packed all of your belongings on check-out day. Re-check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden items. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Go through the rental one final time and look for any damage. We suggest inspecting the property with the property manager whenever you can. If the property manager is not available, remember to take pictures of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
  • Leave a review! Hosts rely on great ratings to compel new reservations. They'll be grateful for your review. Alternatively, if something wasn't as described, other vacationing families will appreciate that you share your review find their best vacation rental. Be fair with your review. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the owner had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to solve it.
