Booking the best Beaufort vacation home experience:

When to book & When to go:

  • In the New Bern area, The earlier your group can reserve a vacation home, the easier your search will be. The most desirable properties are reserved early. Reserving your rental property six to twelve months before your travel dates is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to plan and reserve your vacation rental.
  • To get the best value, change your group's vacation week to the Spring or Fall months. May, September, and even October offer pleasant weather, less crowded beaches, and reduced traffic. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a New Bern vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday on the coast? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with loved ones at your favorite beach.
  • Some property managers offer rate reductions for veterans. Make sure to check with your host or property manager to see if special offers are available for your family before you book.
  • Booking websites usually offer customers an option to add vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which costs 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed vacation time as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance might be a a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for more information.
  • Often, property management companies supply New Bern area visitor guide magazines which will include coupons, either offered independently by local businesses, or by way of a partnership between the property management company and the business itself. You can also find New Bern visitors guide magazine and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.

Finding the best rental:

  • Start by choosing the best vacation week and a maximum budget.
  • Determine how many beds and the configuration your group requires. This one-bedroom studio will send you back to the '60s and '70s. \n has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
  • Specific information about bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is normally available online. Otherwise, call the property owner before you book the vacation property. Remember that most listings specify the max. guest capacity, which typically includes sofa beds in living rooms. You will need to work out what bed configuration is suitable for your vacation.
  • Are you bringing the family pet? Although a number of vacation homes allow pets or animals, guidelines and costs vary per property. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Make sure to ask before booking, and study your rental agreement! Pet fees or costs applied to your invoice.
  • Are you visiting for a single attraction or event? Use a map search to locate nearby rentals.
  • Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for persons with a disability. Make certain to inquire about specialized equipment and wheel chair accessibility.

During your stay:

  • Take a copy of the host's phone number and entry/exit procedures for your rental home. Store the host's contact information in your smartphone.
  • Hosts are available to help! Don't be shy to ask any questions during your stay.
  • Protect the rental owner (and your things!) by locking the rental when you are out, just like you would back home.
  • Note any issues with the rental upon arrival, and immediately contact the property manager. We specifically recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that are very helpful if damages are assessed.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like disrespectful visitors disrupting your home life. Employ the golden rule for common sense. If they like you, locals might even recommend great beaches and attractions you would've never otherwise known!
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Local residents can often help. Who better to ask where to order the best nachos, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for crabbing?
  • Double-check every room of the vacation property to confirm that you've packed everything at departure. Make sure to check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden treasure. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
  • Leave a review! Hosts rely on excellent feedback to stimulate more bookings. They'll be thankful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something went awry, other vacationers will appreciate that you share your review and help them have the best future vacation. Remember to be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the property manager could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to remedy it.
