Tips and Tricks to get the perfect New Bern vacation rental experience:
Sticking to a spending plan:
- June, July, and August are the most expensive months in coastal NC. Booking a rental in the Fall or Spring is one of our best tips for saving money on your vacation home. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of desirable homes. Many vacationers use this strategy to reserve larger homes, or to book an oceanfront rental that would otherwise be unavailable during the high season. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a New Bern vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday near the ocean? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with friends and family at your favorite beach.
- The sooner you can book a vacation rental, the easier your search will be. The best vacation homes are reserved very early. Booking your rental property up to 12 months before your vacation is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to search for and book your vacation rental.
- Veterans and Active Duty Military members may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property owner or host if your vacationing group qualifies for a price reduction or discount.
- Property management companies frequently offer customers an option to obtain vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which generally costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed days as a result of medical-related issues or weather, as well as evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance might be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for details.
- Many rental management companies supply New Bern area travel guides which often include coupons, either offered directly by local companies, or through a partnership between the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find New Bern area magazine and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.
Planning and choosing your prefect New Bern rental home:
- Select a group lead, choose your vacation dates, and choose a spending budget.
- Determine how many beds and the bed configuration your group needs. Mermaid Cottage in Beau Coast Neighborhood Beaufort, NC has 4 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms.
- Precise details about bedrooms and bed counts is regularly accessible online. If they are not listed, call the property manager before you book the property. Remember that most listings specify the max. guest capacity, which often includes sofa beds and bunks. You will need to determine what is optimal for your vacation family.
- Does your family require specific amenities? Most websites include amenity lists and search filters. Amenity filters help you quickly remove less-optimal properties.
- Proper accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for persons with disabilities. Make certain to ask about specialized equipment and wheel chair accessibility.
- Traveling with pets? Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Ask your property manager before booking, and study your rental agreement! Pet fees or costs may be applied to your invoice.
Have a wonderful stay:
- Be sure you get the owner's phone number and entry/exit procedures for your rental. Put the manager's information in your smartphone.
- Make a record of any damages to the rental during check in, and immediately contact the host. We especially recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that are valuable if damages are assessed.
- Hosts are available to help! Feel free to ask any questions during your stay.
- Be respectful. Frequently, nearby homes are filled by permanent residents. Respecting late-night noise limits and parking policies can make a stay significantly more pleasurable.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Local residents can usually point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to rent beach equipment, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for bird watching?
- Keep the property locked while you are gone! Don't let crooks spoil your family vacation.
- Double-check every room of the rental property to make sure that you've packed all belongings at check-out. Make sure to check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden treasure. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Record a video to document the condition of the property.
- Remember to leave feedback! Hosts rely on good ratings to stimulate more reservations. They'll be thankful for your review. Alternatively, if something wasn't as described, other families will will be grateful for your feedback and help them have the best future vacation. Please be fair with your feedback If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the owner had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to fix it.
