Tricks and tips to get the very best rental experience:

Getting the best rental value:

  • Summer time is high season in New Bern. Booking a rental in the Fall or Spring is a good way to save money on your vacation rental. Rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of desirable homes.
  • In the New Bern area, The sooner your group can reserve a home, the better your selection will be. The most desirable properties are reserved early. Booking your rental property six - twelve months before your vacation is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to plan and reserve your rental property.
  • Property management companies sometimes offer discounts or promotional rates for veterans. Make sure to check with your property manager to see if special discounts are available for your group before you book.
  • Booking websites often offer their guests an option to buy trip insurance. Trip insurance, which commonly will cost between 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed trip time as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel stay or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance might be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for more information.
  • Many property management companies supply New Bern area visitor guide magazines which include coupons, either offered directly by local businesses, or by way of a relationship between the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find New Bern visitors guide and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.

Filter your rental search:

  • Start by selecting vacation dates and a budget.
  • Decide how many bedrooms and the configuration your family needs. Unique 2 Bedroom Condo
  • Specific details about bedrooms and bed types is usually available on booking pages. If they are not listed, contact the property management company before booking your rental. Remember that most property listings specify maximum guest capacity, which frequently includes sofa beds and bunks.
  • If there's a specific New Bern attraction you love, look for homes that are either near by, or those that cater especially to your needs.
  • Suitable accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for persons with disabilities. Make certain to ask about specialized equipment and wheel chair accessibility.
  • If your group is traveling with pets, you will need a property that allows animals. Get information on breed, weight, and type requirements. Note that some property managers require additional pet deposits and fees.

During your stay:

  • Put the host's information in your smartphone.
  • To ensure that damages are not attributed to your visit, inspect the property for any problem areas during arrival. Contact the rental manager right away to relay your findings. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having a record of problems and contact attempts will be very helpful.
  • Ask questions. You may need instructions for a hot tub, intercom or kitchen appliance. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief telephone call prevents quite a few problems.
  • Respecting quiet hours and parking regulations can make a stay more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You'll magnify your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors are usually an incredible resource to find the best local beaches and hangouts.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Locals can typically point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to rent beach equipment, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for shopping?
  • Ensure you protect the owner (and your things!) by locking the property while you are out, just like you would back home.
  • On check-out day, complete a final walk-through to confirm you didn't leave anything behind. Re-check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden belongings. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Walk through the rental a final time and scan for any damage. We suggest inspecting the property with the property manager whenever you can. If the manager is not available, ensure that you take photos and video of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
  • Did your family have a terrific time? Most rental management companies make it easy for guests to provide comments. If your rental and/or property management company was great, they would love to hear about it. If anything was out of order and they failed to correct it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your comments.
