Equipped with an open floor plan accepting conversation, fun, games, and more between the kitchen, dining room, and living room. Lots of space for family or guests to spread out with 3 bedrooms (Sleeps 8!). Room for a boat, RV, or any of your outdoor activity cars with the side parking (and access to a public boat ramp is one mile down the road off of Lennoxville Rd). Stop at Mill Whistle Brewing on your way to appreciate the waterfront of Taylor's Creek, just a 7 min. walk from the home. Continue taking Front Street to get to downtown Beaufort and savor vistas of passing boats, wild horses, bicycle riders, dolphins and perhaps pirates. You can't beat the sunsets! Tips to get the perfect New Bern vacation home experience:

When to book & When to go:

  • Book your rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules usually open a year in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many families reserve their Summer rental homes during Thanksgiving and Christmas get-togethers. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
  • Summer months are high season in the New Bern area. Book your rental home in the Fall or Spring shoulder seasons to get the benefit of warm weather while saving money and avoiding crowded roads, restaurants, and activities. Many vacationers use this method to reserve larger homes, or to book an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during June, July, and August.
  • Some owners offer discounts for active duty military and veterans. Ask your host or property manager if rate reductions are available for your family.
  • Property managers typically offer customers an option to buy trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which costs 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed days as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance can be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for program terms and fees.
  • Find a copy of your local New Bern visitors guide magazine when you check-in. If your rental property doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers. In addition to great articles, visitors guides have discounts for local attractions, tours, restaurants, and shops.

Planning and choosing the right New Bern vacation home:

  • Select a group leader, choose your trip dates, and choose a max budget.
  • Decide how many beds and the configuration your group needs. Cozy Beaufort Oasis w\/ Hot Tub\/Boat driveway has 4 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
  • Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts is almost always available on booking websites. If not, email or call the property owner before you reserve the home. Note that most property listings specify maximum guest capacity, which frequently includes sofa beds.
  • Some rentals allow pets, and others do not. Acceptable types of pet, size and breeds may be restricted, and additional charges may apply. Ask the owner about pets before booking.
  • Does your group require particular amenities? Most rental search websites include search filters with amenity lists. Amenity filters help you quickly remove less-optimal properties.
  • Suitable accessibility can make or break a vacation for persons with a disability. Make certain to inquire about wheel chair entry, pool lifts and specialized equipment needs.

Tips for a fantastic stay:

  • Add the host's phone number to your phone. Print and take a copy of arrival/departure procedures.
  • Ask questions. You may need instructions for a fireplace, stereo or washer/dryer. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief telephone call can prevent lots of concerns.
  • Protect the rental owner (and your things!) by locking the property when you are away, just like you would back home.
  • Make a record of any issues with the rental at check in, and immediately e-mail them to the property manager. We especially recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that are valuable if damages are assessed.
  • Be respectful of your neighbors. Frequently, adjacent homes are occupied by local residents. Respecting quiet hours and parking regulations can make a stay significantly more pleasurable.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local! Residents can often help. Who better to ask where to launch your kayaks, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for shopping?
  • Re-check every room of the rental property to make sure that you've packed all personal items at departure. Re-check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden treasure. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Record a video to document the condition of the property.
  • Did your family have a terrific vacation? Most vacation rental websites make it easy for travelers to provide comments. If your rental and/or host was great, they would love to hear about it. If anything was out of order and they failed to fix it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your review.
