Tricks and tips to get the perfect Indian Beach vacation property experience:

Cost saving strategies:

  • To find the largest rental home within your budget, we recommend reserving in Spring or Fall. You'll enjoy lower rental rates, better selection, gorgeous weather and the absence of large crowds at New Bern restaurants, beaches, and activities. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a New Bern vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation near the ocean? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with friends and family at the beach.
  • Book your vacation rental as early as possible. Rental schedules generally open twelve months in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many families book their Summer rental homes during Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years Eve gatherings. Book before these holidays for best selection.
  • Veterans and Active Duty Military members may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property management company or host whether your group qualifies for a special rate.
  • Property managers typically offer renters an option to purchase trip insurance. Trip insurance, which costs 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed trip time as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather, as well as evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance might be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for additional information.
  • Find a copy of your local visitors guide upon arrival. If your rental property doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great local stories, travel guide magazines have deals for nearby accommodations, restaurants and tours.

Choosing the best vacation home:

  • Select a group leader, select your vacation week, and choose a max budget.
  • Note the number bedrooms and the configuration your group requires. Nautical Club 104, Soundfront Condo in Indian Beach, NC! has 3 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our New Bern rental home search.
  • Specific information regarding bedrooms and bed types is normally accessible on booking websites. If you don't see them listed, contact the property management company before you reserve the home. Remember that most listings specify the max. guest capacity, which often includes sofa beds in living rooms. You'll need to establish what configuration is best for your family.
  • Is your family looking for specific amenities? Most rental search websites include search filters for amenities. Amenity filters help you quickly remove less-optimal properties.
  • Appropriate accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for persons with disabilities. Confirm all necessary amenities are included before reserving a rental
  • Are you traveling with furry, four-legged family members? Although a number of vacation homes allow pets or animals, guidelines and costs vary per property. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Make sure to ask before booking, and study your agreement! Extra fees or costs could be applied to your contract.

More considerations:

  • We recommend storing the host's contact information in your smartphone.
  • To make certain that damages aren't linked to your visit, record any problem areas upon your arrival. Contact the property manager immediately to relay any damages. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having a record of problems and contact attempts will be useful.
  • Hosts are available to help! Don't be shy to ask questions before, during, or after your stay.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like disrespectful vacationers bothering your life at home. Use the golden rule for best judgement. Happy residents may even recommend great restaurants and attractions you would've never otherwise known!
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Residents can often help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to get the best breakfast in town, have a great night out, or the best spots for fine dining?
  • Lock your rental while you are out. Protect the owner's property and your stuff!
  • Don't leave anything behind! Just before departing, walk through the rental to make sure you've collected all personal items. Remember to check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden items. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Record a video to document the condition of the property.
  • Remember to leave a review! Hosts rely on good feedback to stimulate new bookings. They'll be thankful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something went awry, other vacationing families will be thankful you shared your feedback and help them have the best future vacation. Please be fair with your feedback If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the host had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to fix it.
