How to get the best vacation home experience:

How to get the best value:

  • Book your rental as early as possible. Rental schedules often open 12 months in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many groups reserve their Summer vacations during Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years Eve gatherings. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
  • To find the largest rental home within your budget, we highly recommend reserving in Fall or Spring months. You'll enjoy lower rates, better selection, warm weather and the absence of large crowds at your favorite restaurants and activities.
  • Veterans and Active Duty Military members may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager or host if your family qualifies for a price reduction.
  • Booking websites frequently offer customers an option to buy vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally costs between 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any days missed as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel stay or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance might be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for additional information.
  • Find a copy of your local New Bern visitors guide magazine upon checking in. If your rental home doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers. In addition to great local information, visitors guides have offers and deals for nearby accommodations and attractions.

Make a plan and choose the best New Bern vacation home:

  • Choose your vacation week and spending budget.
  • Determine how many bedrooms and the configuration you need. Front Street First Floor Rental, The Kite House 3 Bedroom\/2.5 Bath has 3 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms.
  • Specific information about bedrooms and bed counts is almost always accessible online. If you don't see them listed, contact the property management company before you book your home. Note that most properties list maximum guest capacity, which typically includes pull-out couches and bunk beds.
  • Are you traveling with furry, four-legged family members? Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Ask your host before booking, and study your rental agreement! Additional pet fees or charges applied to your invoice.
  • If there's a particular New Bern attraction you are crazy about, browse homes that are either near by, or those that cater especially to your requirements.
  • Appropriate accessibility can make or break a vacation for persons with disabilities. Confirm all necessary amenities are available before reserving a rental

More tips for your stay:

  • Review arrival and departure procedures before traveling. Add a note with the directions to your smartphone, and take a printed backup.
  • Hosts are there to help! Don't be shy to ask questions during your stay.
  • Keep the property locked while you're gone! Don't let crooks ruin your trip.
  • At Check-in, make note of any issues with the property and immediately alert the property manager. Record all correspondence just in case a dispute arises.
  • Respecting quiet hours and parking restrictions can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. You'll increase your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors can be a fantastic resource to find the best local beaches and hangouts.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Locals can frequently help. Who better to ask where to charter a fishing boat, have a great night out, or the best spots for shopping?
  • Re-check the rental property to make sure that you've packed all personal items on check-out day. Remember to check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden belongings. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Walk through the property one final time and look for damages to contents or the property itself. We suggest inspecting the property with the host whenever possible. If the property manager isn't available, take video and pictures of the property to record its condition.
  • Leave feedback! Property managers rely on excellent ratings to compel more bookings. They'll be thankful for your review. Alternatively, if something went wrong, other families will will be grateful for your feedback find their best rental home. Remember to be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the manager could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to solve it.
