Gaze out at the crystal clear water from the comfort of your livingroom, diningroom, kitchen, and master bedroom. Wake to the pink rays of the sun over the water and watch as they gently turn to blue and gray. Observe egrets and herons perch among the marshes outside your deck, and relax as you watch the sunset over the marsh. Or soak in the two -person jazuzzi with your adored one as you notice the moon rising over the water. It just doesn't get better than this. As one guest said as she walked into the livingroom, "You feel like you're on a cruise ship!"
This is a 4 bedroom, 2 bath home with drop-dead vistas of the water. The master bedroom has a queen bed, a private entrance to a screened-in porch, and floor to ceiling windows overlooking the water. The master bath has a 2-person hottub and shower. Another bedroom has twin beds (one firm, one semi-firm) and overlooks the marsh. The third bedroom has a queen bed and also overlooks the marsh. The fourth bedroom serves as an office and sleeps two in a trundle bed. All bedrooms have additional sheets and blankets.
The well-equipped kitchen has everything you could possibly need - and then some! Brand new dishwasher, two ovens, an island with a cooktop, microwave, drip and Keurig coffee maker, and vistas from the kitchen sink that will convince you to do dishes by hand. The living room has a TV, books, a couch that is oh so comfortable, and many games for the family to appreciate. As you dine at the solid maple dining room table, savor the handsome vistas of the changing hues of the sky and the estuary tides. Most of all, a deck spans the length of the home that provides covered space for those who prefer shade, uncovered space for those who enjoy the sun, and a screened-in porch, all overlooking the water (Dock in the photos belongs to our neighbor). A grille is available for your outdoor cooking enjoyment. A sizable, modern, washer and dryer will take care of all your laundry needs, should you need them. An office with a desk also has trundle bed that sleeps 2, overlooks the marsh and your own private bridge which leads to the home. Wi-Fi is available throughout the home.
This home is located ten mins. from historic downtown Beaufort, where you can walk the boardwalk and harbor, stop in local artisan stores, sip a drink of your choice at many open air eateries, or visit the N.C. Maritime Museum. Beaufort is protected from the ocean by two barrier islands- the Rachel Carson Estuarine Reserve which includes Bird Shoals and Carrot Island, and Shackleford, which is one of the islands that makes up Cape Lookout National Seashore. Ferries from Front St in Beaufort take you to Shackleford, which is remote and pretty and calming and a very special place.
Charter fishing is available everywhere, for those who are interested. Grocery store and fish market are 10 mins. from the home. Atlantic Beach and Fort Macon State Park are a short 20 min. drive away, where you can bury your toes in the sand and surf the ocean waves. The N.C. Aquarium, on Pine Knoll Shores, is 10 mins. west of Atlantic Beach. More details of happenings around Beaufort will be available to you once you book this home. NOTE: The dock is not ours and is private property.

How to get the best vacation property experience:

Getting the best rental value:

  • Reserve your vacation home as early as possible. Rental schedules often become available twelve months in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many groups book their Summer rentals during Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years Eve get-togethers. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
  • Summer is high season in Beaufort. To get the best value, shift your family's New Bern trip dates to the Spring or Fall months. May, September, and October offer warm temperatures, less crowded beaches, and greatly reduced traffic. Many vacationers use this strategy to reserve larger homes, or to book an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during June, July, and August. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a New Bern vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation near the ocean? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with friends and family at the beach.
  • Veterans and Active Duty Military members may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager whether your family qualifies for a discount.
  • Property managers frequently offer their guests an option to purchase vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed trip time as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance can be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for specifics.
  • Find a copy of your local New Bern visitors guide when you arrive at the rental property. If your rental doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great information, visitors guide magazines have coupons for local accommodations, tours and attractions.

Use filters to search efficiently:

  • Start by having your family choose trip dates and a budget.
  • Determine how many beds and the bed configuration your group needs. Unparalleled water views! Nothing like this! has 4 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
  • Precise information about bedrooms and bed types is commonly accessible on booking websites. If they are not listed, email or call the property owner before you book the rental. Note that most listings specify maximum guest capacity, which often includes pull-out couches. You will need to work out what configuration is right for your vacation.
  • Some properties allow pets, and some do not. Allowable types of dog or cat, weight and breeds may be restricted, and additional fees may apply. Ask the host about pets before booking.
  • If there's a certain New Bern attraction you long to visit, keep an eye out for properties that are either nearby, or those that cater to your desires.
  • Suitable accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for persons with a disability. Remember to confirm all required amenities are available before reserving a rental

Advice for your stay:

  • Review arrival and departure procedures before traveling. Save the instructions to your phone, and take a printed copy.
  • Property managers are there to help! Feel free to ask questions before, during, or after your stay.
  • Keep your rental home locked while you're gone! Don't let crooks spoil your holiday.
  • At Check-in, note any damages to the property and immediately contact the property manager. Keep records of all correspondence in case a dispute arises.
  • Be respectful. Often times, nearby homes are filled by permanent residents. Respecting noise limits and parking rules is the right thing to do.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Local residents can frequently help. Who better to ask where to spend a rainy day, have a great night out, or the best spots for bird watching?
  • On check-out day, take a final walk-through to make sure you have not forget any personal items. Check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden treasure. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
  • Did your group have a terrific stay? Most vacation rental websites make it easy for clients to provide feedback. If your rental and/or property management company was terrific, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was defective and they failed to fix it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your feedback.
