Booking the best Emerald Isle vacation rental experience:
Sticking to a spending plan:
- To get the best value, consider changing your vacation week to the Spring or Fall months. May, September, and even October offer pleasant weather, fewer crowds, and greatly reduced traffic. Many vacationers use this strategy to find larger homes within budget, or to book a beach front vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during June, July, and August. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a New Bern vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday on the coast? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with loved ones at the beach.
- Book your vacation rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules generally open 12 months in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many groups reserve their Summer rental homes during Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years Eve get-togethers. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property management company or host whether your vacationing group qualifies for a special rate.
- Property managers frequently offer their guests an option to add vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which usually will cost you anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed time as a result of medical-related issues or weather, as well as evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for specifics.
- Many property management companies and vacation rental houses supply New Bern area travel guides which often include special offers, either offered directly by local companies, or through a relationship with the property management company and the business itself. You can also find New Bern area magazine and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.
Selecting and booking a perfect New Bern rental home:
- First, have your family select trip dates and a budget.
- Determine how many bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration you need. Peace of the Beach Unit A with King size has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our vacation rental search.
- Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed types is normally available on booking pages. If not, email the property owner before you reserve the rental. Note that most listings specify maximum guest capacity, which typically includes sofa beds and bunks. You'll need to determine what is right for your group.
- Visiting for a single attraction or event? Use a map search to browse nearby rentals.
- Proper accessibility can make or break a vacation for those with limited mobility. Make certain to inquire about specialized equipment and wheel chair accessibility.
- Some rentals allow pets, and others do not. Allowable types of family pet, weight and breeds may be restricted, and added fees may apply. Ask the owner about allowable pet guidelines before booking.
More considerations for your visit:
- Take a copy of the host's contact number and entry/exit procedures for your .
- To ensure that no damages are attributed to your family's stay, record any problem areas upon your arrival. Get in touch with the rental manager right away to record any issues. If there is a dispute, having the recorded issues and contact attempts will be valuable.
- Property managers are there to help! Feel free to ask questions during your stay.
- Be respectful. Often times, surrounding homes are occupied by local residents. Respecting quiet hours and parking regulations reduces conflict and allows everyone to enjoy their day.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Residents can frequently help. Who better to ask where to rent beach equipment, have a great night out, or the best spots for BBQ?
- Lock your rental while you're out. Protect the owner's property and your stuff!
- Double-check the rental property to confirm that you've packed everything at check-out. Remember to check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden items. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
- Did you have a wonderful stay? Most rental websites make it easy for clients to provide comments. If your rental property and/or property management company was great, they would love to hear about it. If anything was inoperable and they failed to fix it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your review.
