Booking the best Emerald Isle rental home experience:
Money saving strategies:
- June, July, and August are the most expensive months in the New Bern area. To get the best value, try changing your vacation to the Spring or Fall shoulder seasons. May, September, and October offer great temperatures, less crowded beaches, and greatly reduced traffic. Many vacationers use this strategy to reserve larger homes, or to reserve an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during the high season. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a New Bern vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday on the coast? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with friends and family at your favorite beach.
- The sooner you can book a vacation rental, the easier your search will be. The best vacation homes are reserved very early. Reserving your rental home six - twelve months before your vacation is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to search for and reserve your rental home.
- Property managers sometimes offer discounts for veterans. Ask your host or property manager if rate reductions are available for your group before you book.
- Property managers often offer renters an option to buy trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which will generally cost anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed time as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance might be a a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for specifics.
- Many property management companies and vacation rental houses supply New Bern area visitors guide magazines which will include coupons, either offered independently by local businesses, or through a relationship with the management company and the business itself. You can also find visitors guide and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.
Make a plan and pick the bestrental home:
- To start, have your family commit to the best dates and a spending budget.
- Decide how many bedrooms and the configuration you need. Just steps to the Beach! Oceanfront with a Beautiful View has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
- Specific details about bedrooms and bed counts & types is normally accessible on booking pages. If they are not listed, call the host before you book the property. Note that most property listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which typically includes sofa beds and bunks.
- If there's a certain New Bern attraction you love, keep an eye out for homes that are either near by, or those that cater especially to your needs.
- Proper accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for persons with disabilities. Make certain to inquire about specialized equipment and wheel chair accessibility.
- Are you traveling with furry, four-legged family members? Although a number of vacation homes allow pets or animals, guidelines and costs vary per property. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Make sure to ask before booking, and study your agreement! Additional fees or costs could be applied to your agreement.
During your stay:
- Be sure you get the property manager's phone number and check in/check out procedures for your rental property. We recommend storing the host's information in your smartphone.
- To make certain that damages are not linked to your family's visit, make a record of any problem areas upon your arrival. text the host right away to report your findings. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having a record of concerns and contact attempts will be useful.
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a garage door opener, intercom or kitchen appliance. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief call prevents a lot of issues.
- Respecting quiet hours and parking policies can make a stay more pleasurable. You will increase your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors are usually a fantastic source for finding the best local restaurants, beaches, and hangouts.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Neighbors can often help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to grab the best tacos, have a great night out, or the best spots for shopping?
- Keep your rental home locked while you are away! Don't let burglars spoil your holiday.
- Just prior to departing, complete a final walk-through to make sure you did not forget any personal items. Re-check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden items. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Inspect the rental a final time and look for damages to contents or the property itself. We recommend inspecting the property with the host whenever possible. If the manager isn't available, remember to take photos of the rental to record its condition.
- Remember to leave a review! Property managers rely on excellent reviews to propel future reservations. They'll be much obliged for your review. Alternatively, if something went wrong, other vacationing families will will be grateful for your review and help them have the best future vacation. Be fair with your review. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the property manager had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to remedy it.
