Strategies to get the perfect Indian Beach rental home experience:

When to book & When to go:

  • The earlier your group can book a rental home, the easier your search will be. The most desirable rental homes are reserved early. Reserving your rental property up to 12 months before your vacation dates is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to search for and book your rental property.
  • Summer months are the most expensive season in Indian Beach. Reserving a rental home in the Fall or Spring shoulder seasons is our best tip for saving money on your vacation. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of desirable properties. Many vacationers use this strategy to reserve larger homes, or to reserve an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during June, July, and August.
  • Property managers sometimes offer special rates for veterans. Remember to ask your property manager if rate reductions are available for your family.
  • Property management companies typically offer their guests an option to buy trip insurance. Trip insurance, which will generally cost anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed time as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for additional information.
  • Often, rental management companies supply New Bern area visitor guides that include special deals, either offered directly by local businesses, or through a relationship with the property management company and the business itself. You can also find New Bern visitors guide magazine and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.

Planning and choosing your New Bern rental home:

  • Choose a designated group leader, select your vacation dates, and select a maximum budget.
  • Decide how many bedrooms and the configuration your family needs. Peaceful Ocean Club sound front condo with great view and easy walk to the beach has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our New Bern rentals search.
  • Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts is usually available on booking websites. If they are not listed, reach out to the property manager before reserving the vacation property. Remember that most properties list the max. guest capacity, which oftentimes includes sofa beds in living rooms.
  • If your group is vacationing with pets, filter your search for a pet-friendly property. Ask for details on breed, weight, and type requirements. Often, hosts charge additional pet fees.
  • Is your group looking for special amenities? Most websites include search filters with amenity lists. Use these to your advantage to find the perfect rental home.
  • Proper accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for persons with disabilities. Confirm all necessary amenities are available and included before booking.

During your stay:

  • Get the host's contact number and entry/exit procedures for your rental property.
  • Property managers are there to help! Don't be shy to ask questions during your stay.
  • Lock your vacation home while you are out. Keep your property safe!
  • To make certain that damages are not linked to your family's stay, record any problem areas upon check in. text the property manager immediately to document any damages. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having a record of concerns and contact attempts will be useful.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like obnoxious visitors disrupting your life at home. Employ the golden rule for common sense. Happy residents may even recommend great local food and attractions you would have never otherwise known!
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Locals can often help. Who better to ask where to enjoy a steak with a view, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for crabbing?
  • Re-check every room of the rental property to make sure that you've packed all personal items on check-out day. Re-check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden belongings. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Inspect the property one final time and scan for damage. We recommend walking through with the property manager whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the property manager is not available, remember to take photographs of the property to record its condition at check-out.
  • Remember to leave a review! Hosts rely on good ratings to propel new reservations. They'll be grateful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something went wrong, other vacationers will appreciate that you share your experience find their best vacation rental. Please be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the property manager could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to fix it.
