Tips for getting the perfect New Bern vacation property experience:

Sticking to a spending budget:

  • The earlier your group can book a vacation rental, the easier your search will be. The best rental properties are booked very early. Booking your vacation home six - twelve months before your vacation is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to plan and book your rental property.
  • Summer is high season in Atlantic Beach. Booking a rental in the Fall or Spring is our best tip for saving money on your vacation home. Rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of acceptable properties.
  • Hosts sometimes offer special rates for veterans and active duty military. It's always a good idea to check with your property manager to see if special offers are available for your family before you book.
  • Booking websites typically offer guests an option to purchase vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which normally will cost anywhere between 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed vacation time as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for more information.
  • Find a copy of your local New Bern area magazine upon arrival. If your rental doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great local information, travel guides contain offers and deals for local restaurants, attractions, and tours.

Make a plan and pick yourrental:

  • To start, have your family agree to date ranges and a maximum budget.
  • Decide how many beds and the configuration you need. Oceanside Condo in Atlantic Beach, NC-Boardwalk Shores Unit A has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our New Bern vacation rental search.
  • Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is normally accessible on booking pages. If they are not listed, email or call the property owner before reserving your rental. Note that most property listings specify the max. guest capacity, which typically includes pull-out couches and bunk beds. You'll need to work out what is best for your trip.
  • Are you bringing the family pet? Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Remember to ask the property manager before booking, and study your rental agreement! Extra fees or costs applied to your contract.
  • Visiting for a single attraction or event? If so, use a map search to locate nearby properties.
  • Suitable accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for guests with disabilities. .

Have a wonderful stay:

  • Get the host's phone number and arrival/departure procedures for your rental. Store the manager's contact information in your smartphone.
  • Property managers are great sources of help! Don't be shy to ask any questions before, during, or after your stay.
  • Protect the property owner (and your stuff!) by locking the property when you are out, just like you would at home.
  • To ensure that no damages are linked to your family's visit, inspect for any problem areas upon your arrival. Contact the rental manager immediately to relay any pre-existing damages. If there is a dispute, having a record of concerns and contact attempts will be helpful.
  • Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking policies can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You'll magnify your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors are a fantastic source for finding the best local spots.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Locals can frequently help. Who better to ask where to get the best seafood, have a great night out, or the best spots for fishing?
  • Double-check the rental property to make sure that you've packed all of your belongings on check-out day. Re-check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden items. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Go through the property a final time and keep an eye out for any damage. We advise inspecting the property with the property manager whenever you can. If the manager is not available, ensure that you take photographs of the property to record its condition.
  • After your trip, leave a review! Property owners rely on good reviews to compel new bookings. They'll be thankful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something went awry, other families will appreciate that you share your feedback and help them have the best future vacation. Please be fair with your feedback If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the manager could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to solve it.
