This 2400-acre resort has every kind of water activity and for good reason: it sits on the banks of the Neuse River, which ultimately winds its way to the Atlantic. Plus, a Venice-like canal system runs through the property, and a pretty lake is also on the premises. Sailing is awesome on the Neuse River, which is bigger than it looks in photos. Another good bet: the River Cruise. There are breathtaking bicycle trails, a calming way to take in the spectacular beauty. If you don't want to be active, that's fine, too, here. This is a laid-back vacation where you get a lot for your money. All Fairways Villa units are on the golf course.
By all means, bring your family to this resort. The one and two-bedroom suites are cavernous, some up to 1500 square feet, and comfortably sleep four to eight guests. All suites have kitchens with microwave and dishwasher, but if you really want to prepare, ask for a unit with a full kitchen. A washer and dryer in each suite are great amenities. Rooms are elegantly decorated and spotless, a enjoyment to stay here and you'll be glad you booked a second week.

Tips for getting the perfect New Bern vacation rental experience:
Getting the most from your rental budget:
- The earlier your group can book a vacation home, the easier your search will be. The most desirable vacation homes are reserved very early. Reserving your rental 6-12 months before your vacation is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to plan and book your vacation rental.
- To find the best value, shift your group's trip dates to the Spring or Fall months. May, September, and even October offer warmer weather, less crowded beaches, and greatly reduced traffic. Many vacationers use this strategy to reserve larger homes, or to reserve a beach front rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during the Summer. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a New Bern vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday on the coast? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with loved ones at your favorite beach.
- Some property management companies offer discounts for active duty military and veterans. It's always a good idea to check with your property manager to see if rate reductions are available for your group before you book.
- Property management companies usually offer guests an option to purchase trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which generally will cost you anywhere between 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed time as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for program terms and fees.
- Many property management companies and vacation rental houses supply New Bern area visitors guide magazines that include special offers, either offered independently by local companies, or by way of a relationship between the property management company and the business itself. You can also find New Bern area magazine and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.
Finding the perfect vacation home in the New Bern area:
- Choose a designated group leader, select your dates, and select a max budget.
- Note the number bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration your family needs. Beautiful 2 bedroom unit at resort, sleeps 8 has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our New Bern rental home search.
- Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed types is normally accessible online. Otherwise, contact the property manager before reserving the property. Note that most properties list the maximum guest capacity, which often includes pull-out couches. You will need to determine what configuration is best for your vacation group.
- Do your family pets travel with you? Although a number of vacation homes allow pets or animals, guidelines and costs vary per property. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Ask your property manager before booking, and study your agreement! Extra fees or costs may be applied to your contract.
- Visiting for a single attraction? Try a map search to browse nearby properties.
- Appropriate accessibility can make or break a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. Confirm all required amenities are included before reserving a rental.
Know before you go:
- Review arrival and departure procedures before leaving home. Add a note with the directions to your phone, and take a printed copy.
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a fireplace, television set or kitchen appliance. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief phone call prevents lots of concerns.
- Lock your vacation home while you are out. Protect the owner's property and your stuff!
- At Check-in, record any issues with the property and immediately alert the property manager. Keep records of all coorespondence.
- Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking rules can make a stay more pleasurable. You'll increase your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors are an incredible resource to find the best local restaurants, beaches, and hangouts.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Residents can frequently help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to charter a fishing boat, have a great night out, or the best spots for crabbing?
- Re-check the property to make sure that you've packed all of your family's items at departure. Re-check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden items. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Inspect the property one final time and keep an eye out for any damage. We recommend walking through with the host whenever possible. If the manager is not available, ensure that you take photos and video of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
- Leave a review! Property managers rely on great ratings to inspire future bookings. They'll be thankful for your review. Alternatively, if something went awry, other families will will be grateful for your review find their best rental home. Please be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the manager could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to remedy it.
