Getting the best Beaufort rental experience:

Sticking to your rental home budget:

  • Summer time is high season in the New Bern area. To find the best rental home for your budget, we strongly suggest reserving in the Spring or Fall. You'll benefit from lower rates, better selection, beautiful weather and the absence of large crowds at New Bern restaurants, beaches, and activities. Many vacationers use this strategy to reserve larger homes, or to reserve an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during the Summer months. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a New Bern vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation near the ocean? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with friends and family at the beach.
  • Book your vacation home as early as possible. Rental schedules generally open 12 months in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many groups reserve their Summer rental homes during Winter holiday get-togethers. Book before these holidays for best selection.
  • Some property managers offer promotional rates for veterans and active duty military. Make sure to check with your host or property manager to see if discounts are available for your group before you book.
  • Management companies and individual rental owners typically offer renters an option to add vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which usually will cost you 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed trip time as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for details.
  • Many management companies and vacation rental houses supply New Bern area travel guides that include coupons, either offered independently by local companies, or by way of a relationship between the management company and the business itself. You can also find New Bern visitors guide magazine and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.

Choosing the perfect rental home:

  • Choose a group leader, select your dates, and choose a budget.
  • Decide how many bedrooms and the bed configuration your group requires. This one-bedroom studio will send you back to the '60s and '70s. \n has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our vacation rental search.
  • Specific information regarding bedrooms and bed types is regularly accessible on booking pages. Otherwise, email the property owner before you reserve the home. Note that most property listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which oftentimes includes sofa beds in living rooms.
  • Is your group looking for specific amenities? Most websites include search filters with amenity lists. Filtering by amenity will allow you to quickly find the perfect rental.
  • Proper accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. Make certain to inquire about wheel chair entry, pool lifts and specialized equipment needs.
  • Traveling with pets? Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Ask your property manager before booking, and study your rental agreement! Extra fees or costs could be applied to your invoice.

Tips for your stay:

  • Take a copy of the property manager's contact number and check in/check out procedures for your . Store the manager's contact information in your smartphone.
  • Record any issues with the property upon arrival, and immediately e-mail them to the property manager. We specifically recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain time stamps that can be beneficial if damages are attributed to your stay.
  • Hosts are available to help! Don't be shy to ask any questions during your stay.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like disagreeable vacationers disrupting your peaceful home life. Practice the golden rule for best judgement. Happy residents may even recommend great beaches and attractions you would've not otherwise known about!
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local! Local residents can usually help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to order the best nachos, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fishing?
  • Lock your rental while you are out. Protect the owner's property and your stuff!
  • Don't leave anything behind! Before departing, take a walk through the rental to make sure you've collected all belongings. Re-check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden treasure. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Please make sure to walk through the property one final time and scan for damages to contents or the property itself. We advise inspecting the property with the host whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the manager isn't available, remember to take video and pictures of the property to record its condition.
  • Did you have a terrific vacation? Most rental websites make it easy for travelers to provide comments. If your property and/or property manager was terrific, they would love to hear it. If anything was defective and they failed to fix it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your feedback.
