How to get the best vacation home experience:

Get the best rental value:

  • The sooner you can book a rental home, the better your selection will be. The best rental homes are booked very early. Reserving your vacation property 6-12 months before your travel dates is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to search for and book your vacation rental.
  • Summertime is high season in Beaufort. Booking your New Bern vacation rental in Spring or Fall is an excellent way to save on your rental home. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of suitable homes. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a New Bern vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation on the coast? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with friends and family at your favorite beach.
  • Some property managers offer special rates for veterans and active duty military. Make sure to check with your host or property manager to see if rate reductions are available for your group before you book.
  • Management companies and individual rental owners frequently offer guests an option to buy vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed trip time as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance can be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for program terms and fees.
  • Often, management companies supply New Bern area visitors guide magazines which often include coupons, either offered independently by local companies, or by way of a relationship between the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find New Bern visitors guide magazine and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.

Planning and choosing the rightrental:

  • Begin by choosing your vacation dates and a budget.
  • Decide how many beds and the bed configuration your group needs. Resort style living in small town Beaufort NC has 3 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our search.
  • Precise details about bedrooms and bed types is usually available online. Otherwise, email or call the host before you reserve your home. Note that most properties list maximum guest capacity, which often includes sofa beds.
  • If your family is bringing pets, you'll need to find a rental that allows animals. Request details on breed, size, and type restrictions. Be aware that some property owners require additional pet deposits and fees.
  • Visiting for a specific event or attraction? If so, use a map search to browse nearby rentals.
  • Suitable accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. Confirm all necessary amenities are available and included before reserving a rental.

Have a wonderful stay:

  • Add the host's contact info to your phone. Understand and take a copy of check in/check out procedures.
  • Ask questions. You may need instructions for a garage door opener, A/V setup or WIFI setup. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief call prevents a lot of issues.
  • Lock your vacation home while you are away. Keep your property safe!
  • At Check-in, record any issues with the rental property and immediately alert the property manager. Keep records of all coorespondence.
  • Respecting quiet hours and parking restrictions can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. You'll enhance your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors are often a fantastic source for finding the best local beaches and restaurants.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Locals can frequently help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to enjoy a steak with a view, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fine dining?
  • Just prior to departing, take a final walk-through to confirm you haven't forget anything. Make sure to check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden treasure. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
  • Did your family have a fantastic time? Most rental management companies make it easy for travelers to provide reviews. If your rental property and/or host was fantastic, they would love to hear about it. If anything was imperfect and they failed to address it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your feedback.
