How to get the best Atlantic Beach rental experience:

Get the most from your vacation rental budget:

  • Book your vacation home as early as possible. Rental schedules usually open a year in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many groups book their Summer vacations during Christmas and Thanksgiving get-togethers. Book before these holidays for best selection.
  • June, July, and August are the most expensive months in coastal NC. Reserve your vacation in Spring or Fall to get the benefit of gorgeous weather while saving money and avoiding crowded roads, restaurants, and activities. Many vacationers use this method to reserve larger homes, or to reserve a beach front rental that would otherwise be unavailable during the Summer. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a New Bern vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation on the coast? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with family and friends at the beach.
  • Property managers sometimes offer discounts for active duty military and veterans. Ask your host or property manager if special discounts are available for your group before you book.
  • Booking websites often offer renters an option to add vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally costs 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed time as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance might be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for details.
  • Find a copy of your local New Bern visitors guide magazine when you arrive at the rental property. If your rental property doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great local stories, visitors guide magazines contain coupons for nearby attractions, tours, restaurants, and shops.

Selecting the perfect vacation rental in the New Bern area:

  • To start, have your group agree to the best dates and a budget.
  • Note the number beds and the configuration your family requires. HOT SPRING DEAL! 3 NIGHT MINIMUM STAY IN THIS DELIGHTFUL OCEAN CONDO ! has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our vacation rental search.
  • Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts & types is usually accessible on booking pages. If not, email or call the property manager before reserving the vacation home. Note that most properties list maximum guest capacity, which typically includes sofa beds in living rooms. You'll need to work out which bed configuration is suitable for your vacation.
  • Some properties allow pets, but some do not. Acceptable types of dog or cat, size and breeds may be restricted, and added costs may apply. Ask the host about your furry family members before booking.
  • Looking for unique amenities? Most rental search websites include search filters for amenities. Use these filters to your advantage to find the perfect rental home.
  • Proper accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for the less-mobile. Confirm all necessary amenities are available before booking.

Have a wonderful stay:

  • Add the owner's phone number to your phone. Understand and take a copy of check in/check out procedures.
  • Ask questions. You may want instructions for a fireplace, stereo or WIFI setup. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief phone call can prevent quite a few problems.
  • Protect the owner (and your things!) by locking the rental when you are away, just like you would back home.
  • To ensure that damages are not linked to your family's stay, inspect for any problem areas upon check in. Call the host right away to relay any damages. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having a record of problems and contact attempts will be useful.
  • Be respectful. Frequently, surrounding homes are occupied by local residents. Respecting noise limits and parking regulations is the right thing to do.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Neighbors can usually help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to take kids for a treat, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for BBQ?
  • On check-out day, take a walk-through to make sure you did not forget any personal items. Check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden treasure. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Walk through the rental one final time and look for damages to contents or the property itself. We advise inspecting the property with the property manager whenever you can. If the property manager is not available, remember to take photos and video of the property to record its condition.
  • Leave feedback! Property managers rely on good reviews to compel new bookings. They'll be thankful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something went awry, other vacationers will will be grateful for your review find their best vacation home. Remember to be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the manager could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to remedy it.
