Beaufort rental property booking tips and tricks:

Sticking to a spending plan:

  • In the New Bern area, The earlier your group can reserve a home, the better your selection will be. The most desirable properties are booked early. Booking your rental home six to twelve months before your vacation dates is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to plan and book your rental home.
  • To get the best value, consider changing your family's New Bern vacation week to the Spring or Fall shoulder seasons. May, September, and even October offer pleasant temperatures, fewer crowds, and reduced traffic. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a New Bern vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation on the coast? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with family and friends at the beach.
  • Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property management company or host whether your group qualifies for a price reduction.
  • Property managers usually offer customers an option to add vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally costs 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed days as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel stay or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance might be a a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for program terms and fees.
  • Look for your local New Bern area magazine when you arrive at the rental property. If your rental doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great local articles, visitors guides contain coupons for nearby shops and restaurants.

Selecting the best vacation home in Beaufort:

  • Select your vacation dates and maximum budget.
  • Note the number beds and what type of bedroom configuration you need. Ann St Cottage In The Heart Of Historic Beaufort has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our vacation rental search.
  • Precise details about bedrooms and bed counts is generally available on booking pages. If they are not listed, email or call the property owner before you reserve your home. Note that most property listings specify maximum guest capacity, which oftentimes includes pull out couches in living rooms.
  • Some rentals allow pets, and some do not. Acceptable types of pet, weight and breeds may be restricted, and additional fees may apply. Ask the property manager about allowable breeds and types before booking.
  • If there's a specific New Bern beach you are enamored with, keep an eye out for homes that are either close by, or those that cater to your desires.
  • Suitable accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for persons with a disability. Confirm all necessary amenities are available and included before booking.

More considerations for your visit:

  • Be sure you get the property manager's contact number and arrival/departure procedures for your rental home.
  • Hosts are there to help! Don't be shy to ask any questions before, during, or after your stay.
  • Lock your rental property while you are away! Don't let thieves spoil your trip.
  • Note any damages to the property upon arrival, and immediately contact the owner. We specifically recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that are helpful if a dispute is filed.
  • Be a good neighbor. Often, adjacent homes are filled by local residents. Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking rules can make a stay significantly more pleasurable.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Neighbors can frequently help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to order the best nachos, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fine dining?
  • At departure, take a walk-through to confirm you haven't forget anything. Make sure to check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden belongings. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Go through the property one final time and scan for any damage. We recommend inspecting the property with the host whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the host isn't available, take pictures of the property to record its condition.
  • Did your family have a great stay? Many rental management companies make it easy for vacationers to provide reviews. If your rental property and/or property management company was fantastic, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was imperfect and they failed to address it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your feedback.
